Well I finally got to watching Ep 3 and I did enjoy it quite a bit. It felt different from the other episodes but it was actually a good different feeling. Really didn't expect Saori to act like she did. I'm atleast glad my highness has gone down for this show since it's been like forever since I watched and enoyed this show. This atleast makes waiting for new episodes tolerable now

Her profile in the upper left says:

Three-sizes: What's that [rest cut off]
Personal best record: Really fast! (According to her)
Favorite food: Ice cream
Least favorite food: Broccoli
What she wants the most right now: A kind older brother

Welp, Kyosuke got his work cut out for him.

Also, lol at the "three sizes".

Haha, I look forward to seeing the interactions between her and Kyo, and seeing how Kirino will react to it. Should be an amusing episode.

Remember when Kuroneko started calling him "Nii-san" in the maid outfit episode?

I expect lots of Kyosuke abuse this episode. At least, there better be something flying at his head at least once.

Hopefully more than once. Gotta love some Kyosuke abuse.
I just want Kirino to go all tsuntsun more/again <3

OreImo 2 - 4

It was pretty good. 2 > 4 > 1 > 3, I'd say. Ria is cute, so the episode couldn't be bad.

But still - you can only stretch a gag so far, and this episode really only had one. Kyousuke being called a lolicon wasn't super funny the first time, and by the tenth... Well, the tenth was okay, actually.
"I'm not a lolicon, I'm a siscon!"
But the second through ninth times were boring.

On that note, this episode pretty much embodies how I imagine 'normals' look at this series. It wraps up everything anime is looked down on for into a cute little package of fanservice, lolicon, and incest.

The ending line indicates that we're finally escaping volume 6, which is nice. It's time to get the actual plot into gear.

Episode 4
Fun episode. I do love a good rice bowl.
lol @ the Sword Art Online figures. Dammit A1.

Next episode is gonna be..interesting. Not really sure what it's gonna be about.

I enjoyed episode 4.
Ria was a pretty cute character, and I liked the way her being there influenced the interactions between Kyou and Kirino. If anything, I found the whole lolicon amusing, mainly for the way Kyou was clearly getting more pissed each time.

Judging by what Psion said up there ^^ it'll be nice to get the plot moving. I haven't read any of the source material at all, so I have no clue what's gonna happen next.

Not bad, pretty weak on plot though compared to the previous episodes. Ria being bilingual was a kind of a surprise. Anyway, looking forward to whatever crazy stuff that's going to happen in the next episode...

this season has been terrible in my opinion and this latest episode has been the worst. i liked that episode with the swirly glasses chick (even though i thought majority of it was trash) but man this episode was just terrible. from a random 12 year old american that speaks fluent japanese to all that fanservice..yeesh...

i liked season one because of the weird but intriguing premise. watching kirino's relationship with her brother improve because of eroge was pretty cool as well. but that novelty has worn off and i really cant stand kirino at all anymore. i have no idea where the story is going.

dropped.

Are we ready?
It wasn't until late last night that I realized it was Friday and not Thursday. Time off can really be a blur.

Episode 5

This was fun. Kirino gagging made me laugh out loud. But fuck another cliffhanger. They're gonna keep doing this aren't they? Goddammit.

Either way, looks like we're getting into the stuff from the light novels I was waiting for. My tears are ready.
LN spoilers:
Can;t wait for the Kyosuke and Kuroneko relationship and eventual breakup because of Kirino. I'm even more excited for the Aysaye stuff, but if I understand that's not as big as the Kuroneko stuff. Either way, Dramaaaaaa

Ep 5

Pretty great. Well, I have some complaints, but there were some great points too.

They finally picked up the pace to the proper level. It took four episodes to slog through volume 6, but going from memory, this episode took us maybe two thirds of the way through volume 7. It's a nice change to be able to say "things happened".
The cuteness was also nicely maintained. The last episode set a high standard, but Kirino and Kyousuke managed to keep things going even without the help of the overpowered brown loli.

My complaint is that they cut out pieces I liked in order to do those things. Where was (LN stuff)
Ayase handcuffing Kyousuke? I won't forgive anyone who cuts my angel's screentime. Or everything to do with the Akagis - how could they cover Sena and Kirino's "invented boyfriend" talk behind music
? They also turned up the dere just a bit too much, with both Kirino and Shironeko.
Smaller cuts and alterations are to be expected, so I didn't mind most of those (and there were plenty, of course). Still, we wouldn't have had to miss out on anything if they had paced the first four episodes better, so I'm disappointed there.

Wasn't really feeling that Ria character from the last episode, just kinda too young and bouncy for me, but that's alright. This episode was basically to be expected, it felt like the main tropes you'd explore for this kind of situation.

I have to agree that the novelty of the show has worn off a bit but I think the premise is interesting enough to see it through.

Episode 5 was pretty shallow fun, but fun regardless. It's nice to see Kirino and Kyousuke's relationship showing real improvement, even if it was under the pretense of being a couple.

Manami's reaction was great. huhuhu...

This is only a one cour show right? I don't know how they're gonna fit it all. Would've been nice to see some of the cuts you mentioned.

Manami's reaction was great. huhuhu...

My favorite part.

I love this show.

Kuroneko's face upon seeing Kyousuke and Kirino arm-in-arm was priceless. Manami's reaction was great, too.

And Kuroneko has grown on me so much. I couldn't stand her in the first season, but now that she no longer dresses like an old lady from 1850 and isn't a total bitch, she's pretty cool.

Is this endcard thing some new trend? I first saw it in Madoka Magica, and figured it was a special thing, but it seems all shows do that now?

I think it depends on the popularity. Seems random to me, probably just a thing some shows get and some don't depending on the studio and the budget.

Fun thing, Ume Aoki is the character designer for Madoka Magica, and she did this endcard for S1

You know it's her because of the wideface.
I'm hoping she gets another this season and more than anything I want to see a new Akiko Watanabe one.

I always look forward to end card illustrations because when one of my favorite doujin/eroge artists do one and it pops up I am always like YEAAAAH!

Watched all of S1 (at least, the episodes available on Crunchyroll) tonight in one sitting. Time to blaze through what we have of S2 when I get some sleep...

Kuroneko's goth clothes were part of what gave her her distinctive personality and style. I miss them.

I finally broke down and watched the whole first season over the last few days. At first I was constantly asking myself where I went wrong in my life to end up on this path, then I found myself whistling along to Irony, and by the end I had a permanent :3 glued to my face.

The main thing I've taken away from it is that Kyousuke gets way too bad a rap. Sure, he's kind of bland and needs a life of his own, but he's like the best brother ever. As a brother myself, I found it inspiring. And along those lines, I was pleasantly surprised by how tame the "incest" angle was. I was expecting something really outrageous.

Finally, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think the show would be better without most of the creepshots/fan service. ...god, it's like I don't even know myself anymore.

How's the new season so far? I'd go through the thread, but I don't wanna spoil anything.

Happens to all of us. lol
So far it's been pretty good. A little slow moving, but seems to be picking up now. Still as fun as ever.

Bueno. I was worried it would be one of those shows that goes straight to hell after the first season.

EDIT: I'm halfway into the first episode and I feel like I'm missing something. Was there something between the end of the first season and the start of the second? Kirino went to America, and Kyousuke forced her to come back? Kuroneko confessed to Kyousuke!?

Guys guys guys guys guys todays end card holy shit.

You didn't see the true route end with the game club. There are 4 episodes that were web only or something like that and they go off an alternate end where she leaves for america. Remember when she's about to take out the photo album and 2 choices flash around his head? Yeah, they do the other route.

Ep 6

It seems I may have been too hasty... This episode included the scene that I thought they cut last week, featuring
my angel Ayase and her handcuffs
. I don't know if I remembered the order of events wrong (probably the case), or if they moved it - but either way it's fine. It got included, that's what counts. It even made it into the ever-improving OP!

Other than that, just a generally good adaptation of the rest of volume 7. Gendo took the stage again to prove that moe-ness is hereditary, and Mikagami
bowed out like the background character he is. Also his face is annoying
.

The only bad part of this episode is that
now we're back on the Ruri route again... I got tired of it after the last season, quit hogging the screentime already! I mean, they did amp up her cuteness quite a bit in the anime, but that applies to basically everyone, so it's no real gain. Blah
.

Thoughts about the future (mild LN spoilers):
If my memory isn't failing again like it apparently did last week, Ayase only gets one notable scene in the next two volumes - so in other words, yawn, call me in three or four weeks. I'll probably be watching anyway, of course, but I won't be happy about it!
