I don't know why I like this show so much, but I do...

Will start the second season when my Crunchyroll account automatically comes off hold at the end of this month.

Are we ready for tomorrow?

EDIT: Get on the hype train!

I believe this is the end card for Ep3. I won't post it directly for those who wanna wait.
Only an hour and a half till CR airs.
What a tweest.

Great episode, really enjoyed Saori's heartwarming backstory. Although... I can't remember when they met the mangaka friend in last season though, if that happened. Hmm...

If they do it right this will be a "leap" in popularity for this character , no doubt about it.
I don't know if it would be enough to convince those who haven't been Team Saori, but hopefully!

OreImo 2 - 3

I guess you can't win 'em all, as they say. Last week's episode was astoundingly great, so it makes sense that this one would be thoroughly boring. It's like universal balance, or something.

Anyway. Not much to say. It focused on uninteresting people we'll never see again, and spent way too much time doing so. The whole flashback could easily have been five minutes with narration instead of dialogue, and it probably should have been. Then the rest of the time could be spent on people I remember the names of.

Left: Older sister.
Right: Saori~ (an angel of two different faces in and out of otaku form)

This episode was most appreciated as expected. A back story and birthday focused on the best girl. All is right with the world. I'm wondering if this season will even focus on an overarching narrative. I don't mind either way because it's doing more than fine as is.

I'm guessing Kaori more
fronted a condescending view towards Saori in order for her to not rely on her to gain and maintain friends
. It's not an uncommon interaction in anime, but fits well with the other relationships in-show. It also successfully explains Saori's character since the first season better (as her bond with friends was always put above all else). Now we see why she valued Kirino, Kuroneko and Kyou since the start. Great episode.

Fantastic episode. I've been waiting for the Saori back story for a time. Laughed the opening bit with the "Who are you?" part

One thing I noticed was just how small these otaku ciricles seem to be. I mean what are the chances that Saori is old pals with
the writer of Maschera who is also one of Kirino's friends sister, AND the waitress who served Kyouske(or maybe her sister. There are two of them, the other is the host who was on stage at the Meruru cosplay contest in S1) back in the first season at the Otaku Girls Meet-up? Small world indeed.

Eeeh?! I didn't remember all that! Thanks for picking up on those appearances.

Eeeh?

I'll come clean, I looked it up because I found myself thinking all these characters look too simliar to others. Mainly the manga girl and Kanako were practically identical. Turns out, they're sisters. Which is nuts. I think she has a little sister too who shows up in the games.

PS: Guessing by the title for the next episode, I think the girl Kirino raced against in america in the S1 epilogue will return.

Aaah. You know, this came to my mind, but I didn't think much of it at all.

I see, I see. I'm not sure what to expect from that. We don't get anything out of her from season 1. Will it play out more largely on rivalry with Kirino or simply her time with Kirino before departure, I wonder.

Kirino showed Kysouke a picture of her, so why go through the trouble of designing and showing her if they didn't have plans for her? I think it'll be present stuff, with maybe a brief flashback. I bet she's gonna randomly show up to Kirinos surprise and there's gonna be racing.

Formula car racing

They were a little heavy-handed with the melodrama in episode 3, but otherwise it was a pretty nice episode. It felt way more isolated than the previous episode, but I appreciate giving Saori some backstory.

This episode really connected with me. There's a lot to be said for a circle's dynamic and I think they nailed it pretty well here. I didn't mind seeing some other characters come in for a bit, even if they aren't staples of the show, they were a key part to how Saori came to be who she is.

I have to wonder if Saori is going to start acting differently from now on. I certainly wouldn't mind that.

Yeah, would be nice if she's in normal clothes every now and again too, even if it isn't all of the time.

I wasn't a fan of this episode because of all the reasons you listed.
