Cole was cool. Often a grumpy bastard but cool. His reactions and portrayal in the infamous games were a lot more realistic than most super-hero characters which made him appear rather bland to most

Watch the Drive video. The main character looks like a slightly heavier version of him from the Make Yourself and earlier era.

I hate to break it to you but this game is about rebelling against draconian authority.
Also rebelling against the establish order, after a long train of abuses, is the opposite of being complicit. Obviously everyone benefits from society, but the point of a civilized society is to promote human freedom and happiness. Read the declaration of independence.
I like Cole, but I also really liked his redesign in 2, it's a shame we didn't get it even as an alt costume.

By complicit I meant what he is wearing and probably how he consumes... and most likely the things he takes for granted. True revolution from authority is a complete breaking from its creations or the less radical reappropriation and repurposing of its mechanisms. I am not sure he wants to destroy the system which gave him his fancy designer clothes and ultra cool beanie. Also... we have no idea what offense this regime has commited... nothing suggests draconian rule of law (punishment that does not reasonably line up with the infraction)-. All we know is that people are "watched...".
I was merely pointing that most "rebeliousness" is concentrated on the superficial sentiments (that means the most tangible and easily to direct rage at) without actually considering what the core form of domination is or where it comes from.
More often than not it is not only some sort object of authority (government, church, cultural institution, etc..) but also some systemic mechanism...
And your recommendation to read the "declaration of independence" confuses me. There are surely more relevant and contemporary sources concerning social justice and rebellion against authority.

Infamous is one of my favorite franchises but even I have to admit the main character looks like a douche. And I said that before I even scrolled past the first screens to see other responses.

It's probably safe to assume that the main character is justified in his rebellion because of some unfair punishment being enforced upon himself or society.
I understand your point about misdirected rebellion, but I really didn't know what you were suggesting with your other post.
Also I said read the dec of independence because my post made several references to it, and it's actually very relevant today. Although I would actually recommend John Locke's second treatise on the civil government, as most of the ideas (and phrases) came from Locke.

No me and plenty others liked him. His looks reflected on the situation that he was in. I am glad that they removed douchey Cole for the real one in I2.
I believe they said they are just locking up anyone who has abilities regardless of whether they have used them or not, or even know they have them yet. That's what the scanners are for.
So yeah, not a fair punishment.

For an open world game this is looking pretty good.
I think I'll wait to see the world, effects, etc at play before I make such a claim. It's fun to speculate, though.

I think they decided not to. They had to keep the games looking like PS3 games, otherwise it wouldnt have been fair to other devs.

I liked cole a lot in infamous 2, in the first game he didn't really have much character other than "I'm so gruff I can't openly care about anyone". I think that Cole honestly had more character growth during infamous 2 than most characters see over a trilogy.
infamous 2 was one of my favorite games of this generation because it felt like a very complete package.
Also I'm like 99% sure that Delsin is modeled off Troy Baker, his VA.
