A web browser is not a videogame.
What does that have to do with PS2's DVD playing capabilities?
A web browser is not a videogame.
Didn't Dreamcast also play audio CDs?
My memory is fuzzy on that.
What does that have to do with PS2's DVD playing capabilities?
I have no clue what that gif is suppose to mean...
The thing is while US and UK are one of the biggest markets of the VG industry they aren't the whole picture.U.S.A. and the U.K. says NO!
And MP3 and VCD with third party software.
Read again:
"Pretty sure PS2 was the first "entertainment" console that did more than simply play videogames if we're going to argue it."

YOU LOSE

this thread is getting cut throat, lolYOU LOSE
I don't know much....but I know this. A console war is as good for this industry as war is (or was) for the US economy (historically anyways). It's in the best interest of everyone for both the PS4 and the new XBOX (Infinity, whatever) to be strong. If not, the future that faces gaming will be nothing like the present. So what I'm saying is, squeeze the consoles tight, they might be the last.
I'm drunk.....Is it Tuesday yet?
Don't count the next Xbox out in specs. Please don't.
I'm not asking you to believe insane rumors either.
This GIF will make sense soon.

I just went to that website and they have two different tables showing the one you posted and then another posting them growing, so which is right? The one they dropped in or the one they grew in?
![]()
:lol
Post the other table and a link to the article it's in.
The best thing for Sony (and future sony users) is a Microsoft fighting with good software. And viceversa.
Uh not sure what Xband has to do with anything. We're talking about platforms that pushed more than simply playing videogames. You know as in watching movies, listening to music. Basically replacing devices in your living room. I'm pretty sure playing games online doesn't really qualify![]()

First table you see is them growing, the next is the one he posted.
Holy shit - only a couple more days until we can stop calling it Durango! Thank fuck for THAT.
I was joking. But I don't think PS2 was conceived as a "device for replace something", o if it was, Sony change some plans (for example, launching the PS2 with DVR capabilities).
Can any microsoft reps PM me information about Tuesday. I promise I wont leak it.
Preach, brother.Holy shit - only a couple more days until we can stop calling it Durango! Thank fuck for THAT.
Sony pushed the DVD capabilities from get go. I'd say that qualifies as a device to replace something.![]()
I certainly don't think it is impossible but highly unlikely to happen, what I think will happen is that MS will expand the XBOX brand and will have different "type" of Xbox devices solely because it doesn't make sense for everyone to have to pay for an all in one box and could be a great buisness strategy providing MS the oportunity to offer cheaper products and be more competitive in that aspect.
How have they kept it a secret so well so far? Obviously NDAs and future employment possibilities..but a bonus for everyone if no leak?
Anyone?
Sorry, but the name Xbox Infinity alone instantly destroys everything else. Pair that with a powerful looking logo and it'll be too much.
They don't even have it.
Jesus!
Some of the people working on it's bosses don't even know their employees are working on Durango. Also the zebra striped dev kits, always online dev kits, etc.Anyone?

Actually (as I've said before), his job is optimising VM performance and designing low overhead virtual drivers for Durango (since games run in VMs now with no direct access to hardware)
alright guys, i know Sony wants to provide entertainment features, but what I was trying to say is............oh hell... screw this conversation. can we talk more about the tent?
Yes i heard it has nexgen tent poles, can you confirm?
I don't know if this guy is legit (from B3D):
VMs? No direct access to hardware? WTF?
Isn't this guy just some common user in B3D?I don't know if this guy is legit (from B3D):
VMs? No direct access to hardware? WTF?
Reiko, I'm curious, do you have insider information?
It's sad because you are heavily invested in MS and perceive these "bad pieces of info" more than another person. I'm looking at the big picture. We have multiple rumors of Durango trying to be the central box in the living room with DVR and possibly teaming up with cable companies to provide a set-top box experience like Roku. Add that with the talks of integration with the Win 8 ecosystem and interconnectivity between different systems and functionality with Kinect and you can see where this is going. MS's ambition is a wider scope then just games right now. Of course they'll have games. They don't want to alienate their fanbase at the beginning of a new generation so they will give them games to placate the core while they work on what they plan to really do with Durango and that's control the living room. As for Sony, I haven't heard any rumors of Sony trying to replace your cable box have you?
No one who really does is going to answer that.
Everyone at MS reads this board, trust me.
Kinect 720 (rumored) Stuff
He probably is at a MS Bunker beign guarded by The Rock so he doesn't leak anything. No one who really does is going to answer that.
Everyone at MS reads this board, trust me.
goodmorningggg!
Actually. The Mega CD was first.
Then the Saturn and PSX all played Audio CDs. The Saturn could do some cool audio effects too.
