Well, of course you do. Do you think subsidized models exist just to be kind to the customer ? It's a loan, it helps you buy things earlier, but in the end you have to pay interests. That's standard business.

True. But I was a strong kinect believer from the beginning.

I think both are very different. Kinect brings something new to the consumer, a different experience from regular games (and you cannot play those genres without a kinect).
Illumiroom brings something better to the consumer, you're playing the same games, but with an added "wow" factor (and you could still play those games without illumiroom, for a more conventional experience).
That's why the reception among hardcore gamers is in favor of illumiroom : they usually don't want new experiences, but improvement on existing ones. On the other hand, regular consumers will more easily spend money for something new, while they'll start counting their beans when asked to pay for something better (if they have something that is functional, they'd rather keep it that way instead of spending more, since it's "good enough").
