I'm just so used to disappointment with SE that I just can't even imagine it's appearance being a reality. Gaf will be an interesting place to be if it is indeed revealed. I've been on the fence about its appearance, but that Noctis perfume can't be a conincidence.
As for the name we do know its still refered to as "Versus" by Nomura's most recent comments. If that's just only it's development name remains to be seen, but that Roen mistake can't be a typo. I'm hoping for a name change to XV, a game of this motif deserves to be mainline. This particular setting along with a marketing budget a mainline title will allow will definitely get the casuals in the west to take notice, which I believe to be one of SE's goals.

On that note the article last year where Kotaku said it was folded into Final Fantasy XV may not be entirely off base. Just weird wording is all. The game wasn't canceled or folded but simply rebranded as Final Fantasy XV.

.No, I mean like a logo morph during a trailer. I can picture it already: 2 minutes of gorgeous CGI and dialogue that makes no sense, followed by the Final Fantasy Versus XIII logo, and then the "Versus" and "XIII" switch places and turn into XV. Coming to PS4 in 2014.

Oh nvm, I thought you were referencing the made up XVersus title.
This. And it would probably be the last exclusive main entry ever. Or atleast drop the 13 branding and make it into its own standalone thing, who cares if a new IP shares the FF mythos and naming conventions.

That was 100% Bashcraft, and despite all the flak we got from NeoGAF and elsewhere after Wada denied it, I think you're right. I'd be shocked if Versus and FFXV were two separate games. I guess we'll see in a couple of weeks.

also after getting the stage demo, I want it to release within the year. I can't do any of this reannouncement then still be two years off bullshit. I don't care if they started from scratch at some point. They need to announce when its ready.

Well I am just glad there are still some journalists that are still excited for the game instead of bashing it like so many other sites tend to do when the subject of Versus comes up.

The only thing Wada said was that the game hasn't been canceled and it looks fantastic. The game was also at a point where they were having weekly meetings at the time.
That's the only thing Wada said. Square Enix has always refused to comment about the game being Final Fantasy XV even when that fake video showing it renamed popped up. All they said was "that video is fake". They have never strait up denied the game being renamed.

Honestly , no one ever bashes versus.Its usually frustration directed at square enix and FFXIII(the most hated game of the generation, by far)

It's kinda funny. I've been fairly positive & optimistic about Versus all these years, as some of you've probably noticed, but I have very little hope that it'll be shown at E3 or that it has been turned into a PS4 game, which so many of you seem to believe. I don't think it's completely impossible, but I just don't see it happening.
It's not going to be Versus. I mean, when is it EVER Versus?
For that matter, when was the last time an announcement from Square Enix was anything good at all?
And even when there were good things, how many haven't been tainted with some horrid thing. Like, "Yeah Type-0 is great. Never coming to America."

I don't know, it seemed pretty specific for them to say they were working on a FF title for the PS4. It can't be a soundtrack, browser game, perfume, or mobage so at this point It's unlikely it could be all that bad.
Being an FF title alone doesn't guarantee quality of any kind anymore. While I agree its likely not a mobage, remember that even mobages bear the title of FF now.
Where we're going, we don't need CG.

Been too long since a new numbered FF. People are increasingly jaded over the XIII brand and its spinoffs. XV just makes sense.
I also don't think they will port it to PS4 and *only* release it on PS4. While I'm fine with it, too much missed sales potential from the incredibly passive PS install base. It will be for both. In any case I want it on PS4 as that's definitely my preferred platform (well, or PC but... yeah, I'm not even going to bother wishing for that)

They did fine with Tomb Raider. And TWEWY is still the best game on the DS.

True, but we've kind of been stuck in the same number XIII for the last generation. (I don't really consider XIV as much more than an MMO that so happens to be a main numbered title, in fact we'd probably be better off without it ever existing...)
I'm looking forward to the next step after Versus/Lightning Returns and hopefully Versus will finally be announced so that we can get past this extremely long FNC chapter of FF. I really hope they never plan anything like this ever again.
Also, the timing of the Noctis perfume releasing days after E3 seems like it could mean something may be announced around that time.

After losing a large drop of sales from XIII to XIII-2, there's no way they won't rebrand it. I fully expect to see Versus under the XV banner, along with a release date and short trailer.
