I'm still going to buy Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII even if it doesn't include the demo. :T
I... Honestly don't think it's gonna go past 2m WW.

Hopefully people this way will have more reasons to buy the best FF of the gen lured in by Versus's demo.
What I expect:
Versus XIII to be renamed Versus. Release date 2014 for both PS3 and PS4. At the same conference I also expect XV to be announced as a late 2015 project for 360 and Ps4 and PC Windows. Afterall at the sony event they told us "we're preparing for a development of a NEW final fantasy, please be excited". Announcing Versus to be XV after this will be trolling us all.
As for the game per se... I love every FF so my expectations are the usuals, I expect a great FF like every other FF.
- Expectation: Rebranded as FFXV, a slightly more substantial yet still annoyingly ambiguous trailer.
- Hope: Rebranded as Final Fantasy Versus, a meaty and satisfying trailer showcasing both story, gameplay and background info, release date, crossplatform for PS3/PS4.
Around 3/4 millions players around the world will surely do the same anyway![]()
Expecting it at E3. And expecting GAF to meltdown when they see what it's become.
They will reveal Lightning as a new character and proceed to talk about her new design for about 15 minutes. The show will end in the words "pls be excited".

Expecting it at E3. And expecting GAF to meltdown when they see what it's become. Both quite realistic expectations I think.
Now Kotaku has learned that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is no more.
Kotaku has heard from several sources that the game, as originally intended, is done for.
Whatever happened to the game over those six years—whether it underwent radical changes or simply couldn't come together—it seems Square Enix has finally decided to cut its losses.
Another source tells Kotaku that, a few months back, Final Fantasy Versus XIII's development and resources had actually been folded into another game, which is to be the next numeric Final Fantasy title, Final Fantasy XV. Whether this meant actual game assets and code or simply the movement of staff was unclear. This information was independently corroborated by yet another source, though it's important to note both had learned of the "folding" prior to the more recent news of its outright cancellation.

Hmm what do you know?
I can spill the following comfortably though since I think this developer is a bit of a joke, and I think people are beginning to suspect this anyway. Versus XIII will have another unveiling later this year regarding development for the next generation. It won't have the "Versus XIII" part in the title. It will definitely release in 2014. You can have my account deleted if this information turns out to be inaccurate. News is fresh on this and I'm really confident about it. FF15 and FF16 are underway, both next generation projects. There's a chance FF15, in particular, may be an exclusive release. Kind of. And with that, I'm off to sleep.
If cross-gen then I expect the game to release in the near future.
If next gen only then maybe not until holiday 2014 as they will want the install the build up.

How is it lazy?Taking Versus XIII and simply renaming it to FF XV is so lazy that I won't be shocked if Square Enix decided to do this.
