2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

In my last gameplay session, I took 192 screenshots. Lots were similar as Nilin likes to move around and close her eyes a lot... but yeah. When I can't turn a corner without wanting to take a screenshot, that's usually a good indication that a game is quite pretty.

Textures could be a bit higher res though. These robots look great from just a little farther away....

Portrait shots :) I quote them because there're big

Diggin it.

It seems like a lot of people are preferring the game sans-grain.

So is that only because the game shows better in screenshots without it, or do you guys just prefer the look in general without the grain?

Edit: sorry for the double post, I thought I was editing this into my post above^^

Who ever said this game would look worse without the ugly grain filter is a dumbass.
Really? Someone is a dumbass for speculating about something?

While I like the cleaner look without it, the lack of the noise filter makes aliasing and low res textures a ton more obvious.

In the screens I posted above, I'm using grain removal, but actually putting some film-grain back in with SweetFX. It's not nearly as noticeable, but I like it as an in-between compromise.

Well, I like the film-grain effect, but their filter was REALLY strong. And what's worse is that it was even more prevalent in screenshots. Because the noise was always shifting, you don't see it as much when the game is in motion. But once you capture a still, it's no longer shifting and you can see it's strength clear as day.

Personally i haven't play it with the grain except 5-10 minutes. It isn't a big deal if you just play the game with the grain but it is very 'heavy" if you take screenshots and i don't like it at all. I prefer the game without it but as neo said above it has it's drawbacks :)

I'd just like to say, Nilin has one of the sexiest and empowering walk animations in all of creation. I usually walk around when I play games for the first time.I like to soak everything in. And Nilin just made it even greater. I'm not just taking about dat ass, either. She looks calm, curious, strong, and confident when she walks ,and looks at interesting things. It's seriously great.

also, dat ass.

Caved after playing the free version for an hour and purchased the Rising Storm expansion (25% off on steam if you already have RO2). Glad I did, IMO better game play than RO2 vanilla. Playing without the HUD is very immersive.

Took over 2GB in tiledshots until I realized that the hud (player arm and gun) is shown in each tile...ruined all the nice shots I'd taken! These are ones where I was in spectator mode.
