Neighbors sometimes put things up for sale, but other than that it's a tool for you to use to sell your stuff to neighbors or friends that visit.
Flea market seems like it's more for you to sell your items to villagers and other players.
So far, no one has said anything when I had the Samus helmet on. Gas masks seem to cover the whole face too, so that is weird.
I got her yesterday or the day before. Brought her to someone else's town. She sent me a sketchbook. It was cute.

I accidentally sold my fishing pole, anyone know of a way to get another or do I just have to wait until it pops up again with the nookingtons?

You need a slingshot for that. I guess you need an upgraded store to get one though.

Hit it with your net by the edge of a cliff.

It's saturday night and I'm drinking beers whilst playing Animal Crossing. What have I become
I went out and bought a new game and snacks to enjoy with it and just ended up eating stuff whilst playing AC.
I never wanted this. I knew the risks, but I did it anyway.
