Maybe. It seems like a lot of the bigger reviewers/publications have put their reviews out there already. It'll be interesting to see how other less prominent critics respond and review the movie I think.
The Citizen kane of movies.
Never heard about this RPX thing. Will have to check it out eventually. Two theaters in my area with it.Hey, so has anyone watched a movie in RPX? (Regal Premium Experience)
I wanna watch Pacific Rim in Imax but it's only listed as imax 3D in my area, smh.
Noticed RPX listed and from the description it sounds like it's basically imax? If it's not, then dang, I guess i'll see it in regular.
Okay so I ordered these^ tickets for the gf and I for this Saturday but I ended up getting tickets for Thursday's 10pm showing just now too for my best friend's and myself. Is something wrong with me? I've never been this hyped for a movie before.Got my IMAX 3D tickets. The IMAX screen in my city is HUGE. Cannot fucking wait for this movie. The only other movie I've seen on that big of a screen was Transformers 2 and that was an awesome experience.
It's Apocalypse Cancelling Time!

I hope the Kaiju are depicted as sympathetic creatures with good character arcs showing their personal growth and development over the course of the movie.
This movie rocked. Get's straight to the point and gives us what we want to see and them some. Plus, the characters aren't bad, and you give a damn. They're developed enough to have completed arcs. Pacific Rim should have no problem making money, despite horrid early marketing. I'd strongly recommend a go at it. Score is fantastic, too.
Tonight Del Toro said he wanted to make movie for the kids to go crazy and he did it.
My guess is that The kaiju are probably the earth spirits trying to teach us that pollution is wrong. In the end the kaijus and jaegers are just an elaborate toy game in some kids imagination as the Mid credits reveal. Fade to black.10 bucks says the Kaiju are just upset because they have splinters in their paws.

My friend saw it yesterday, his review is here:

Not a fan, unfortunately.

Now let's hope it stays that way![]()
So why is this movie not actually playing anywhere even though it opens this weekend?
The amount of showings in my area are really limited.
Also saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zK2IOaiVQl8 which says "Coming Soon" on the Regal site. I'm pretty interested now.
I watched TDKR in RPX and the two main differences were that it was incredibly fucking loud and more expensive. There might have been nicer chairs too but all I remember is the sound of Batman's flying thing vibrating me so much my vision blurred.
Holy shit at Pacific Rim. If you think the trailers have revealed too much you aren't just wrong, you're DEAD wrong.
Jeremy Jahns' review

he loved it
I loved this line in his review;
"Comparing Pacific Rim to Transformers is like comparing Jurassic Park to Theodore Rex."

Really pulling hard for this film. GDT deserves it.
The whole genre deserves it, this film needs to succeed so that
1. This genre can have big budgets and greenlit
2. Original ideas are encouraged in hollywood
