He's good don't get me wrong, Section 80 was really good, but in my opinion he's not even close to RA the Rugged Man. Lamar can murk any of the rappers that he named, except for RA.
But he did change the verse and take it out. The record that released didnt have the line in and the Canibus verse was way different to the original verse.

It's typical budden trying to jump in on something to get his name out there.

I completely agree with you. I wish he would, but even so my opinion about RA doesn't change. And I'm almost positive that when Immortal Technique stops being a groupie, he can murder Lamar too.

The named callouts are only to Kendrick contemporaries but the King of NY stuff arguably gets at everyone from there.
The only version I heard still had the line in it. At least that's how I remember it.
And all this "Why Budden speaking?" shit is exactly what I was talking about earlier. Dudes want to act like because his songs get old that the dude can't write circles around this new generation.
Enjoying the music for music is fine but to act like these dudes a penning bar after bar of fire is straight up silly.

I think the problem with Budden is his more known for all the fails in his career so just looks stupid when he tries to actually get serious. I mean shit remember all that stuff with that big booty bitch he was with. Dude was all on the internet crying and shit after she left him.

The dude's personal life aside though, he writes bars. Yeah that shit is embarassing as hell for him but you don't see people question Nas over his Kelis shit or Biggie over Faith supposedly sleeping with other rappers. I don't see people talking down on half of hip hop because of Badu. So with Buddens major L's aside, I don't think that's it. Actually see what I'm talking about below.
Are we talking songs here or what? Because it seems to me that Kendrick is talking about stepping bars up, not writing better hooks or getting more consistent production. Budden has bars. You can hate his content, his beat selection, and all that shit but the dude can legitimately write and writes better than most. Yeah he's inconsistent but his highs are higher than most of these new dudes. But a lot of people, like yourself, want to switch up the topic to justify excluding him in these types of conversations. We're not talking about quality albums or songs you can ride to in here we're talking about the quality of the bars.

I'm fully convinced Kendrick had a verse on forbbiden fruit and Cole just rang him like "Bro remember that track we made, well my dog ate the computer but I managed to recover your hook though."
As for slaughterhouse, lyrically they're alright. Their projects are jsut always weak as fuck, I think em produces for them. That needs to change. If Budden was to reply though it would be good. That's the one thing Budden can do well, fire shots.

I love RA and know he could murder just about anyone with his suffocating delivery and all that jazz, but it doesn't matter. i didnt call him a bandcamp rapper either, those were directed at actual bandcamp rappers. RA would probably fit in the older category, but he isnt flabby yet.

I've seen a couple of yall mention it throwing shade in the Gaf Hop thread but never using it to decry what he's putting out musically. It's like Kanye getting shit for his out of studio antics not effecting judgement of his music. Most of these dudes have to actually put out bad music before being called worthless. Not just catch a bunch of L's in their personal lives.
I understand that to an extent but the specifically the King of NY stuff is going to warrant the older dudes responding in some cases. And the rest of these dudes shouldn't even respond, at least not in anyway other than just stepping their shit up.
I used to be mad excited about Crooked I. I got bored though of constantly waiting for the dude to put out an album.
