Hong Kong is obviously Team Zeon, while Japan is Team Feds.
I dunno, her using sex to manipulate Jesus was nifty, and while her last scenes in the series were groan worthy until I saw MSG and got what that was referencing, she still got a few sympathy points from me before the end.
Clotho, Shani and Orga. You know, those guys. They piloted the enemy Gundams in SEED's last like, three episodes? Not to be confused with the ones from Destiny, who were around for most of the show.

The obligatory Gundam recap episode, but packaged as a meet the ZE Queen and her courtiers deal, with additional POV remarks by the Queen and explanations by her Duke as to the previous events in V Gundam.
We get quite a lot of names to places in this episode, plus Geography.
Also, more ZE Battleship porn, and a propaganda speech. Besides that, there's nothing more to say. Just read the recaps of the previous episodes again and you'd have covered most of the content in this episode.
A great signposting and summarizing ep for those who've left V Gundam in the dust for ages and are picking it up again though, I'll give 'em that much.

Yep. Those'd be the one's. I can't recall if they use the term "Adjusted" or whatever in SEED, or if that only comes up in Destiny and they call these ones "Biological CPUs" instead.
Realize is one of the best OPs in that show, I think. Listening to the SRWJ version of it while playing the mission to defend the PLANTs from an insane number of nukes was one of the best levels in any SRW game I've played.
To be fair, if the ZZ Gundam dub had been as bad as the Z Gundam dub, it probably wouldn't have helped anyone. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn't watch Z Gundam in Japanese. It would've left a way better first impression on me, I think.

I remember that post - it convinced me to watch the original SD videos, which are pretty great.
SD Gundam Force wasn't all that great, so it's not worth mentioning directly - but why do most synopses mention that the second season never aired in the states? I distinctly remember seeing the second half of the show, with all the world-hopping shenanigans, air on the dead hours of Cartoon Network.

I'm watching Turn-A Gundam for the first time and I think the design is fine. It doesn't look much like a Gundam at all, I guess, but it fits the show well enough, and really there's nothing wrong with making the Gundam look pretty different for once.
Like you go "What's the Wing Zero look like?" "Like the Gundam but with bird wings." "And the Freedom?" "Like the Gundam, but with spiked wings." "And the 00?" "Like the Gundam, but with cones on wings and big ol' swords." "And the Turn A?" "Like the Gundam, but with a sexy mustache."
I'm joking a bit, but still. It stands out, and that's what matters to me. If I had to nitpick part of it, it'd really be the chest, though. Thing looks a little, I dunno, flat with the cockpit moved lower.

I still find the design to be ugly as hell. The only Gundam I find to be uglier are some of the weird G Gundam's and Exia.
Though right now I am building the Master Grade Turn A. Interesting build, so the I enjoy the model alot more then I did the show or it's design.
As for Gunpla, Master Grade Hi Nu and Exia Ignition Mode arrived today. I think that pushes my backlog to like 30, but hopefully I will be able to find some dark Purplish color to repaint the baby blue on HI Nu, if so he will get pushed up the list. Just not a fan of the Blue.
Doing the same for Nu Ver Ka and changing it so it will match up with the White Unicorn, as I love that pink and white combo.
Before I had ever watched Turn A and knew anything about the show/mech, I would always joke that the thing on the suit looked like a mustache, never thinking that it actually was one because that would just be too ridiculous.
Would love to hear what you think while watching it. It really surprised me as the show went on.

I watched Memory of Eden today and I'm quite torn.
It cut out a lot of the things that made Age weak or played them down (AGE device, X-Rounder, Flit's rants etc,...), added a few to strenghten the storyline, but at the end it was very much only a reminder how much the writers fucked up and it did not flesh out many important things like WHY Asemu did certain things
and it failed to flesh his position in the third act or
.
And the new fight sequences are great and give much needed weight to some of the more emotional beats.
So sad right now
This universe had so much potential.

I'm enjoying it so far. I usually post impressions in the general anime thread, but I could cross post them. Seeing the Borjarnons for the first time was probably the biggest surprise, although there've been a lot of other things that have caught me off guard, too. I think Diana Soreil is probably the best character so far, but then, she's also been getting the most screen time.

Guin Rhineford was my favorite character early on (and stayed so all the way through). Fascinating character. Diana and Kihel are great too. And Sochie is wonderful.

I hadn't heard about Turn A before playing EX VS and wanted to give it a try since the mech design was set apart from the others (at least to someone without allknowing Gundam knowledge like me) and I thought it was interesting to have a female lead. After a few games I realised it was a boy all along lol

I get serious villain vibes from Guin Rhineford. The dude is charismatic as hell and currently clawing his way back into power. Dude gives me a serious Gaius Balthar feel. I still expect him to wind up the nearest thing this show has to a final villain, but I think that could just be G Gundam talking.
I like Diana more than Kihel, but I think Kihel is the more attractive (which is to say that the "Kihel look" is better than Diana's goofy blue lipstick.) Sochie is nice, I appreciate that she acknowledges when she's wrong on stuff.
Loran himself kinda confuses me. He's sort of like, dare I say, a less whiny Kira Yamato. Or rather, Loran is that standard Gundam protagonist who isn't particularly on either side, even if he keeps fighting for one. Except that where all other Gundam protagonists seem to pitch fits or throw tantrums before upgrading into the Coolest Guys Ever, Loran is super humble. He's rarely seen moaning or groaning that anything is unfair, even if it is. I really admire that about him, that he doesn't complain anywhere near as much as well, any other Gundam protagonist ever.
Loran's female friend, whose name escapes me at the moment, I don't have much to say on, since she is rarely on screen. Same with Miasshei, and most of the Militia.
Syd makes me think Final Fantasy every time. Keith is an okay seeming guy, although he kinda feels like the Saji Crossroads of the show. Just some guy who is there, and nobody is sure who invited him. Can't decide if I think Lt. Harry is up to the Char Standard. I mean he's a better Char than Neo Roanoke
although Mu La Flaga was a pretty great Quattro Bajeena/Slegger Law
And I don't feel sorry for Lt. Poe. Girl may be Jerid Messa levels of Fail Knight, but she brings it on herself.
In fairness, I am told that Loran is supposed to be a trap. Tomino wanted him to be a girl, but got told no, or something. Quite a few people who should know better get fooled by him in the show. His Marth hair doesn't help.

I love its design. The leg thrusters are particularly cool. If it weren't for the awkwardly vulnerable cockpit placement, it'd be my favorite MS.

They could've named the series Aura Battler Dunbar or Generic Mecha series X or even something else and people wouldn't even know the difference.
It's only called a Gundam because it's the titular mecha of a Gundam TV show. It lacks some of the more distinctive features that you'd normally associate with a Gundam, imo. (aside from the colour scheme, which is obviously inspired by the original RX 78-2 Gundam)
Seriously, if they had retitled the show as something else, it'd just be considered as yet another mecha show.
Totally disagree with you there man. Turn A is (capital G) Gundam and the closest thing we have to a "this is how it ends" for the entire series. It's Tomino c. 1999 reclaiming the franchise for all time by making the "true" ending (which you can accept or not obvs).

I have to disagree. While I certainly think the show is unorthodox in a lot of ways, just as G Gundam is, it still has a lot of the basic Gundam things going on. The Earth is still locked in military conflict with the Space Colonies (this time on the moon), the White Gundam is still the hero capable of turning the tides, the hero is still opposed to war, there's all the jazz about the senselessness and violence of war, et all.
Show feels plenty Gundam to me.

Pretty much this. For me Turn A is the final chapter of "Classic Gundam". The end of an era. Seed was like a revival/reboot of the franchise.
Any screens? I've seen people talking about this on Twitter and I'm curious to see what they changed. I'm always two weeks or so behind people watching the Bandai Channel version since I watch on Tokyo MX.

Turn A Gundam 20
So I guess that Keith got married off screen and Loran didn't even go or anything. That or the term "in-law" is used more loosely than I'm interpreting it in this context. Anyway, Loran helps an old lady defend her farm, and in the meantime, Diana Soreil, Queen of the Moon, sees first hand the very personal effects her efforts to come to Earth are having on the people already living there. Although she didn't really start a war, it isn't unfair to say that she and her people bear a part of the responsibility for it.
The question of "what is life like on the Moon, that people want to leave it behind so desperately?" is posed again, which reminds me again of Teteth's statement that "not everyone does want to leave the Moon." We haven't seen Lunarian life yet, though, so no real telling.
For an MS that looks and occasionally moves like it hasn't got much mobility, the Gundam has some surprising agility in this episode, jumping onto the head of a FLAT and pointing the beam saber right at its skull. Meanwhile, the Kapool continues to be the most hilariously useless MS ever invented. Yes, even weaker than a
