I'll say this - Naughty Dog better bring it! And I say that as a rabid Naughty Dog fan. As a "Last of Us is my Citizen Kane of gaming" kind of fan. Yeah.
A healthy rivalry amongst the 1st Party Studios would just be awesome for PS4. Very excited for PS4's future right now.

Just curious, why? They are 2 of my favorite games this gen, along w/ their step brother, festival of blood.
The talk with is brother about "my call" gave me the feel that the choice element is still present. I don't remember if they ever outright said one way or the other.
The "conduit" talk and the scene where he's getting her powers, I wonder if she is fighting because of the process itself, or he might actually be removing the powers of the original conduit. (People seem to have been saying he doesn't steal them, I don't know if its been sourced). The motion comic featuring her right after the power transfer is hard to tell, but almost seems to tell her story, first frame with surprise may be the manifest of her powers, so maybe when absorbing he gets a little more info out of people.

Something about the way the Voice acting goes when his brother wakes him up after that minor concussion was pitch perfect to me. The groggy "ooohhh man what happened" is usually really terribly done in games.. and here it was on point. His back and forth with his brother is pitch perfect for family squabbles as well.. you're not exactly menacing or cruel/mean sounding but you also don't really have to beat around the bush when it comes to shit as you deal with siblings. Just put your pissed off voice on and tell it how it is... especially when your the middle child and spit hot fire.

Absorbs them on contact, not steal.
I think there's a good chance absorbs them completely on contact (aka steals them, or possibly even kills them) if he chooses to. And they may work a karma system around it.

I didn't like the first two either but this one looks awesome. I hope they hired good writers though, because it's going to be a huge disappointment if they waste all this animation and actors, tech and premise on a game with terrible writing.

Also, I find it interesting that some of you are saying you weren't into the first two, but are on board with this one. Did you see the gameplay videos? It plays nearly the same way. Unless all you didn't like was the graphics in the first two, which is an interesting way to completely disregard them.

I actually thought I2 was fun to play, but I wasn't into the story or characters at all. Cole is no fun and not in a way that's interesting.
