Don't mind the LCD if it's a good quality LCD. But I was hoping for a spec bump and transition to regular SD cards. Still no Vita for me.
Yup.I'm glad I own the superior model already.
The price cut was made with this model in mind. The OG vita was barely breaking even at $250.

I've lived 2 years with a phone with an OLED screen, LCD is more than good enough. I don't get the hype over it, especially if Sony puts in a good quality LCD which they likely will.
Maybe the Vita screen was impressive when it came out, but I've been playing it lately and it's nothing special compared with modern phones.
I understand. I thought maybe you ment that LCD was rubbish for gaming in general, but i see that you mean more in comparison to other screen technologies. I'm happy with my 3-4 year old LCD TV, but i havnt checked out the newer TVs for comparsion (maybe for the best hehePlasma tech has indeed come a long way. But I warn you now, if you look at a modern plasma then try to go back to an LCD, it's pretty rough. The motion blur of an LCD paired with all these shaky cam movies makes the screen literally un-watchable to me. It's a blurry awful mess. Plus unless your willing to spend $1500+ on an LCD, your black levels are probably actually grey levels. Movies and games like Pirates of the Caribbean or Batman are comically worse. Once you get used to the advantages of better screen tech, it's really quite jarring to go back.
I had to finish watching Breaking Bad on my Vita because of how many dark scenes there were lol.
Im now worried that oled vita wont work as well with ps4 and new vita.

WTH. The 64GB card is more than half the price of the system in Japan? Haha, what a joke. Should have included SD card support in this.
Red/Pink and Black better make it out here.
The Yellow/White is also tempting but I'd have to hear accounts from white Vita users on how theirs look after a year. My white DS lite was a nasty looking thing.

I see that they actually fixed the uneven screws slots thing.

Not too sure about the decision to only include 1 GB. I mean how much more would 4 or 8 GB set them back. Geez, come on Sony.
How much improved the battery life is on this?
Exactly how much of a problem is that on the OG Vita?
Is it really a noticeable thing?
._. Can't unseefrom shocked face to uneasy face.
Looks like I have to hunt down an old model before it becomes obsolete.
Hopefully, they'll continue to sell the older (better) model along side this new one. Looks like the 64GB card will be around 100 US Dollars.

...For them to make I'm sure lol

Highly unlikely imo especially since there isn't any substantial difference between the 2 to warrant being separate.
This will more likely be the Vita of choice going forward (until they do a third revision) and the older one will be there until the rest of that stock dries up.
I love how we got ppl in this thread acting like OLED on vita is so godlike, but we also got a big thread here on neogaf complaining about Vita OLED burn-in with some of those same people from this thread in that thread.
Too many LCD haters here. Has anybody seen an LCD screen on an HTC One? That screen destroys the Vita OLED. If Sony puts a nice LCD in there, I don't think it will affect quality at all. Plus LCD won't have the long term issues OLED will have.
I really do like that they switch to micro usb, but the lcd screen. =/
so, uhm, is oled supposed to be better than lcd?
YES!
Hmmm. I think the front of the new Vita is matte plastic. I'm wary about it.I've had my white Vita since Oct last year.
The unit is pure white, as if it were new. No yellowing or fading. No dirt or grime stains.
The white on front is under/beneath the clear coating. The white back is glossy, loathing has discolored or stained it.
Nintendo stuff that often discolors (white analog sticks, DS lite) is matte, absorbing materials from your hands - into the porous surface.
I do keep my hands clean and wash them before playing portables, maybe that has an effect?
oh crap I wonder if I should be in a rush to get the OLED one...?
LCD and just 1 gig? Sounds like the vita's 2DS.

If history is any proof...soon enough everything will be the new slimmer Vita and just like all older systems they are quickly forgotten.
Does anybody still like the original tank PSP? It looks ancient today while the cheaper and lighter 3000 is all anybody has cared about for years.
New colors, lightrer form factor, new lower price...combined with Vita TV and hopefully the platform actually gets a future.
