two Amells?

Stephen Amell's cousin, Something Amell, got cast as the lead in another CW show called The Tomorrow People. They're scheduling these two shows for the same day, one right after the other, and calling it "Amell Wednesdays" or something. I don't think anybody actually cares about it, but who knows.

(I don't really care, I just wanted to post that GIF :P)

From the Quicksilver thread:

He's getting a TV show with someone, who admits, that is way too young for the role.

Grant Gustin Talks THE FLASH; Teases "Traditional" Costume And Time Travel

"I'm kind of running around a little bit, but mostly just for fun at this point," the actor laughed when E! Online caught up with him recently to ask how he's preparing for the role of Barry Allen in the upcoming second season of Arrow. "Just because I'm really excited...I'm a little fanboy. I'm so excited to be a part of the show." Looking back on how he won the role and whether he was surprised that the CW are going for a younger version of the character in their upcoming small screen adaptation, he added: "I got an audition and I was really excited and a little skeptical at first, because I'm a comic book fan. I know the character and know I'm a little young."

As for what we should expect from his Arrow debut, Gustin had this to say of Barry Allen, the assistant forensic scientist. "I know I'm coming on as up-and-coming in my field. He's not going to be The Flash immediately, obviously. We're going to be Barry Allen first in two episodes and then he'll come back later as The Flash. I haven't actually had a chance to read any scripts yet, so we'll see." However, just because he hasn't read any of the scripts doesn't mean that he doesn't have some ideas about what sort of powers he would like to see The Flash utilise in his own spin-off series. "I didn't realize before I started doing all my research that he can actually time travel, he can run so fast,. I think that'd be a really fun thing to play with on the show is him kind of going to different times and experimenting with that. That'd be fun."

Many fans have understandably been fretting about whether the series wil feature both the iconic costume and the use of "The Flash" codename. Well, while those involved behind the scenes have previously confirmed the inclusion of both of these elements of The Flash's mythos, Gustin has also heard that he'll be suiting up in the signature red spandex too. "I would imagine, when The Flash comes he'll be in a pretty traditional Flash costume. That's kind of what I've caught wind of."

FUCK YOU, GRANT. NO TIME TRAVEL.

And Goddammit, no spandex.

A Flash show with no time travel is no Flash show at all.

They managed to make Ollie and Helena's suits with no spandex. I'm sure they'll figure out Flash's.

Gustin Grant is not a writer. He's just an actor talking about things he thinks are cool. Why freak out about that?

The Flash is only going to be 3 episodes, two of which he won't even be The Flash. (I swear, every time we talk about this, folk act like he was added as a regular cast member) There's no way they could do time travel in that one episode because there's no way they'll be able to explain it. Time travel is one of the Flash's more complicated abilities that he can't do without special conditions, machinery, and years of experience. Since the Flash episode is supposed to be a backdoor pilot, he won't have any of that. More than likely, it'll be him and Ollie punching, I don't know, the Trickster in the face.

Now his own show? Yea. There will probably be some time travel at some point. Not in Arrow though. Chill, brahs.

God, the sooner this red clown moves permanently to Central City and stays out of Starling City the sooner we can forget about this embarasment.

But they exist in the same universe, so if Flash travels back in time, he is affecting time and space across the entire universe including the events and characters of Arrow, hence NO TIME TRAVEL!

Not really. He could also travel forward, and affect nothing. Or travel back, but affect things that have no effect on the life of Ollie or anyone in Starling City.

He could always travel back in time and prevent Laurel from ever meeting Ollie. Or, even better, go all Terminator and stop Thea from being born.

Confuse the hell out of fans, but could travel to a Smallville-era DC.. just to bring back some of that cast for a mega special.

And then when they want to reboot the series they can do a Flashpoint adaptation.

All kidding aside, it'd be cool to have him go to the future and meet/fight Thawne.

I ask again, is it confirmed that he will have super powers? He might just be a regular joe.

We know he becomes The Flash in episode 20 but that's about it really. They could just give him some scientific enhancements (say prostetics that make him run faster or something) but we don't know, everyone's just assuming superpowers are in since he will be the Flash.

Superpowers are confirmed.

One of time travel theory says that that whenever you change something a new parrel universe is created. Hopefully this means Flash will just jump into another dimension and we'll be able to forget this embarrassment ever happened ;_

i'm willing to bet that WB is introducing superpowers to the show as a way to link the series with the DCU( Man of Steel, Batman/Superman, JLA)

They have to add superpowers. Using a single arrow to kill guys armed with smg's has already grown stale.

Plus, Oliver taking down corrupt rich people and gang people will get old pretty soon. I mean, they could keep it interesting if the writing was good, but... (lol)

see this why I love time travel. If the show ever get bad they could always go nuclear and has him go back in time and never had existed in the first place.

That would mean they intend to use the same guys in the shows in the movies and I sincerely doubt that.

Yeah. I can see how Amell and Grant Gustin and the CW would absolutely love that, but I don't see how it helps the movie people at all. The movie audience won't care about Amell or Grant Gustin, and those actors and characters might not even mesh with whatever their vision is anyways, so why not introduce someone new
and better acted than Amell
specifically for your movie(s)?

To be fair, didn't Amell voice the Green Arrow in Injustice?

They could keep the TV characters on TV and not use them in the films. That would mean no Green Arrow or Flash (Barry at least) in the films though however they could get mentions. In return the film characters and actors could not appear on the shows but get mentions and events from the films could be covered. For example say at the end of season 2 of Arrow or right before Man of Steel 2 comes out they acknowledge the destruction that took place in Metropolis in Man of Steel. Use that to cause Oliver to remember what happen at the end of season 1. Or something along those lines.

There could be a connections between the shows and the films without having the actors actually actually appear in the films.

Amell said he's willing to mop the floors of WB or something to get into the JLA film.

I lol'd at that.

Look at Superman. I'm quite sure Amell's abs can act better.

The audience doesn't really care about Green Arrow truthfully so unless they decide to switch to an AAA actor it won't be a huge deal.
Flash on the other hand would need a better/bigger actor for movie roles because it would consist of solo movies eventually after a Justice League movie.

If Amell shows up as GA in a movie, it won't be more than a cameo.

Henry Cavill is a good actor. He just had some weak material to work with in MoS; just like everyone else in that movie.
