As for mine:
1. Here's a big one, brace for it: games have become too needlessly violent and do desensitize people to violence by trivializing it. Worse, violence is a cheap selling trick that usually replaces the need for quality.
2. FPSs are one of the most boring genres ever and the world would be a better place if they had never been invented (and I used to play the hell out of Doom and Duke Nukem 3D).
3. Skyward Sword had awesome motion controls; in fact they were the best part of what is otherwise a very lackluster and barebones game.
4. Some companies do have better ethos than others. Even though the goal of any company is making money, some will do it by building long-term trust and goodwill with their customers, and others will do it by trying to scam them at each opportunity. And this includes console makers.
5. That said, absolutely no company is worthy of your devotion. Not Square (dear god, not them indeed), not Sony, not Nintendo, not Blizzard, not Capcom, not even Platinum Games. Don't give anyone a free pass just because they made your favorite game.
6. Resident Evil games are better than Silent Hill games.
7. It is perfectly legitimate to dislike a game based on looks, be it loli/moe aesthetic, pixel art, gray/brown "realism", or what have you.
8. Xenoblade Chronicles is the best JRPG of all time.
Flame on!
Not controversial, least of all here.
Um, could you elaborate? I admit this is not just controversial but counterintuitive at least.
Edit: I understand now your meaning, but I think that people are using a very narrow definition of "fun". I'm having fun when I play Walking Dead, even as I go through heart-wrenching decisions, because they make me feel strongly. People have fun watching horror movies and dramas, fun doesn't mean "laughing".

Demon's Souls is one of the best games ever.
6. Dark Souls is a top 5 RPG. Possibly along with Baldur's Gate 2, Morrowind and so forth. That's how good it is.
