Eurogamer: Microsoft has hired Jonathan Ross to work on Xbox

Jonathan Ross has his own indie game dev, but I'd imagine this is more to do with his persona. He is a big gamer though, that much is known.

Saw him tweet something earlier mentioning how much he loved Forza and there was a Mountain Dew mention or hashtag or something. May well be the UK Dorito Pope.

You had to say it, didn't you...

Dowito Pope.

..., you're completely missing it MS. Seriously, what year is it? 1994? Pfffft.

Celebrity payoffs. Pretty desperate, but on the upside unlike most of the people who seem to have pushed the Xbones direction, he does actually play games. Maybe they could learn something from him.

So a homophobic dude, based on this I assume he will be the official spokesman of Xbox Live.

Nah, I wouldn't say he's homophobic. You have to be aware of his shows to really understand.

Anyway, I think it was this very forum where someone posted a video of him being interviewed by IGN.

He talked about his company that makes Android games. It might even be a game he is working on.

What's wrong with the Major? He's a pretty cool guy.

I personally don't have any problems with him.

Jonathan Ross is a tv personality so I could see him doing something similar like Major Nelson.
Ps. And it was a joke ofcourse. I have no clue what else Jonathan Ross could be doing at Microsoft.

Didnt he develop a game last year for iOS. I know he's a big nerd for games and comics.

Probably mention it on his show this week.

I had no idea you could buy Mountain Dew in the UK, it was always an American thing to laugh at. Might have to see if I can find some to see what it tastes like.

I can see him benefiting Microsoft actually, he's a former (?) film critic written and a big comic book fan to the point he's even written his own.
As most videogame scripts have some major issues I'm sure he can do something to improve them.

If he's just being used for marketing then that's a big meh. If he is actually being used as a consultant it may serve MS well having a massive gaming/comic book/film geek on their books.

Imagine if MS had hired gamers to work on the system before the hardware was finalized, and before the OS was finalized.

That could have been something.

Hmmm, seems that they put arsenic or something in Mountain Dew over in the US so they're not allowed to sell it here, weird.

Why haven't you launched the US version of Mountain Dew?

We couldn't just launch US Dew in the UK for two reasons…

In the EU there are different regulations on what can and can't go into our products. As such, we have had to tweak the formula slightly to comply with those regulations.
The US Dew uses HFCS (High Fructose Corn Syrup) to sweeten the product, but in the UK we use just normal, plain and simple sugar. The two taste slightly different which very subtly impacts taste.

Rest assured our Dew loving friends, we literally locked our technicians (guys in white lab coats with thick rimmed glasses) away for weeks and until they had replicated the US Dew — this is the output of their combined mega brains!
