In Fighters Only they outlined part of the plan for said "domination", I think they realised that holding the bulk of the events in the US, but throwing other countries a bone or two a year wasn't cutting it, due to time delays. Now the plan is to have lots of regional events with local fighters, guys who will be UFC fighters but will only fight in their region or others they are expanding into, unless they go on to be great, then they get to the US.

So you could have, in one week: a mid week free card, a Friday night card in Poland that may not even be shown outside of the EU and then a Saturday night PPV.

Essentially meaning the territory's they are expanding into get 5-6 cards a year (a guess) rather than just one, two max. They also get a heap of events to watch at a reasonable hour rather than having to get up at 2-3am or stay up all night.

Problem: will anyone want to watch regional cans? Well, yes, if they are not getting curb stomped by top 5 fighters. Could be a good feeder league for them as well, a conference league to their premiership.

Essentially they seem to be taking on the local regional shows (in the EU at least) as a way to spread their brand and keep control. At least that's how it came across.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's Gary Cooks idea.

I find it funny how Frankie lost his title via decision and couldn't win it via decision. Title fights should be a mandatory finish win. This way there is no controversy

We just need an mma equivalent of a penalty shoutout. Maybe have both fighters take turns slapping the fuck out of each other like on World Star.
 
1) Scores should be read out loud after every round so that corners/fighters are able to make adjustments. In every single other sport there's a scoreboard in the stadium yet in this sport fighters have no idea if they're winning.

2) Extension rounds like K-1/Glory
 
You have to consider time constraints.

Have the cage walls slowly close in around the fighters as time elapses until they're fighting in a 2 foot octagon. If the match isn't settled within 5 minutes, a stun gun is slowly lowered on a rope above the octagon until it can be reached by a fighter to incapacitate their opponent.
 
Backwards thinking, but I wish they'd implement draws for rounds. Having to score a round just to have someone win 10-9 causes enough confusion. Two guys can dance around the cage for 5 minutes, but they gotta score it a win for someone. Fuck that. If it's not clear who won a round, fuck it, draw!
 
I wouldn't mind them doing a pseudo mix of TUF and Pride. Two 10 minute rounds and if there is a draw, it's a third 5 minute sudden death round. Maybe do something like 7 minutes rounds for regular fights and 10 minutes rounds for championship bouts. Most fights are too long anyway and end up with guys gassed to shit by the 4th and 5th nowadays.

I agree, and I also have to ask why they have to operate on the IGN review scale. Why is an 8 the worst you can do without a penalty? We don't need half points if you adjust the scale to allow 10-9 for close rounds, 10-8 for definitive rounds, 10-7 for total beatdowns. There's a mental block over scoring something like round 2 for Hendricks a 10-8 because he didn't really come close to finishing or completely manhandle GSP, but that round deserves more credit than any round GSP won.
