Does winter 2014 mean Q1 or Q4?
We don't know.

why tha hell they didn't port P4 (PS2 version ) to PS3? I got P3:FES come on Atlus give us non vita users something ;;;(

Uh... Persona is rather niche, especially compared to Pokemon.
Why should Atlus care about Gaikai? They aren't Sony.
We don't know.
P5 Golden for Vita/PS4 sometime down the road, bank on it.
My point is that it's not a niche JRPG that only hardcore JRPG fans enjoy. Persona is also enjoyed by people who usually don't care for JRPGs, ergo you shouldn't look only at the JRPG fanbase because Persona's fanbase is wider than that (which doesn't mean the same thing as 'bigger'). I don't know why you guys are struggling with this concept -- I thought it was common sense.
We must prepare to be disappointedTheo is there, even Marie is there... But no signs of Hamuko
Yeah, changing the tone of the game wouldn't be a bad idea. Removing Social Links and the date sim aspect, on other hand, would drive a huge part of the fandom mad. I personally would love to see the date sim aspect in a more serious game![]()

That will be irrelevant. You think the Vita will be around then?
It's releasing worldwide tomorrow.
It's not a breakout hit. Especially if we are talking about western sales.
It didn't become a breakout hit by catering to conventional JRPG tendencies. Most JRPGs are boring to me.

So, now that we know more, I'd love to know the story behind Aeana's comment about how reactions here would be interesting. Because PS3, particularly when she made it, was like the safest bet?
I don't know how much you guys think Persona sells. It isn't a 1 million+ selling franchise.
Because you need the console to be actually released to develop games for it.Atlus loves to release games for dead console. What's with waiting for the whole gen and announce a hyped sequel for a last gen system - a week after the new generation of consoles released?
Change platforms? Are you saying it was initially going to be for the PS2 or something, because there's no way it was in development for any other platform.I guess you also missed my later comment that things change. Yes, it is the safest bet, which is why it moved back to PS3 earlier in the year. This game has had some issues, and the development difficulties and presumably the Index financial situation caused them to change platforms. All of the ups and downs with this game are the reason why I've been pretty quiet the last few months, because different details kept changing.
Yes we do. It means Q4.
Pokemon isn't animu?
This is just your opinion though. Sales do not really back your position up, as Persona doesn't sell that much better than other JRPG series in the west. Unless you are polling everyone who purchased P4, how do you know whether most of them are regular JRPG fans or not?
Some people who don't typically buy JRPGs picked up Ni No Kuni. Same is probably true for all well reviewed JRPGs. That doesn't mean their audience isn't primarily the regular JRPG buying audience which propels these titles to 50-200k sales in North America, and about the same in Europe. Unless we are talking about something like Final Fantasy which sells 5-10x more than the genre norm, you are trying to make an objective statement without any proof to back it up.

Cause they will still make money from it and not have to port the game, it makes a lot of sense.
Plus f Sony bring Gaikai to Vita, 2 birds with one stone.

The POINT people are trying to make with you is you need to back up what exactly leads you to believe this, because its niche for a reason. Hell I have strong feelings even Final Fantasy doesnt hold the system selling weight it used to. JRPGs dont sell consoles anymore, they just go where their strongest concentration of userbase is at.
Did anyone seriously pick up a PS4 to play JRPGs right now? No, and there is a reason for that. the potential is there sure, just like with ps3 moving from PS2 but in the formative years? These are struggling companies we are talking about.
Hey its ok to be wrong once in awhile.Oh okay.
Oh okay.
