Persona 4: Dancing All Night announced for Vita

Tearaway, P4G, portable Spelunky-machine. And hopes and dreams

This isn't the announcement that people were getting excited for, is it? If so, this is almost as anticlimactic as the megaman anniversary xbox live avatars.

The composer behind this shit is the best of shit, the god himself! Music is already confirmed to be amazing.

But Persona Q however seems to get (completely new) soundtracks.

Do we actually know if this game is going to be story canon? I am a bit of Persona whore so I may still get it if I must to learn the story.

I am extremely interested to see how PQ does on 3DS. One, because an EO-inspired Persona side series would be amazing. But two, I think that's smart for Atlus - a Persona mainline game could conceivably appear on Nintendo and Sony platforms at the same time, giving them even more revenues. Might be smart. And SEGA has a very good relationship with Nintendo these days

I haven't followed the rest of the conversation, but if the idea is to build fan base on both brands, why not release PQ for Vita too? I doubt the porting would be expensive, and I'm sure Vita fans would buy it.
Of course, it could be a matter of resources, but, if they had the money to hire a company to make a rhythm game, why not spend this money on a quality port?

After playing the excellent VLR Vita port, I can't understand why there aren't more multi platform handheld games. It's not like Chunsoft has a lot of money and resources, or that the Zero Escape series sell amazingly well.

(PS: this is not seen as port begging, is it? I'm more interested in understanding the decision-making process involved)

I doubt that the term is hiring or that company is that big to begin with it.

Gonna be honest, when I saw the tweet initially about this before the reveal, I was excited. I got even more hyped for this after the trailer. P4 music is totally tailor-made for a game like this really.

Seriously cannot wait for this game, aside from P5 obviously. I might pick up PQ despite not being a huge fan of EO-type games.

I'm pretty excited for this. I love rhythm games and Persona seems like a natural fit. As long as P5 is still coming, which it is thankfully, I have zero issues with this.

Definitely excited for this. Sure it's unexpected, but so what? Looks like it can be a fun game.

And it's not like there isn't going to be a Persona 5, so bring on all the Persona!

i wonder what other exciting persona 4 spinoffs atlus can make

persona 4: the fishing. based on the sega bass fishing engine. set during the school camping trip, the investigation team starts a fishing competition after they hear tell of a legendary fish. teddie makes a lot of jokes about being a bear, because catching fish. the fishing store owner who tells them about the legendary fish turns out to be a ghost or a japanese god of fishing or whatever

sonic & teddie + jack frost at the olympic games

You know, after getting over the "WAT" factor -- the fact that they'd even think of making this still boggles my mind -- I'm actually really excited for this game.

Visually, it looks pretty neat. Soejima's art looks like it's well represented in these 3D models. I hope P5 looks even better, of course, but I think this is really good. And it's a rhythm game involving Shoji Meguro's music, which is all I listen to these days (that's somewhat lame, I know), so you know, I'm pretty stoked when I actually think about it.

Sure it's a commoditised fanservice spinoff game, but whatever. It's not like we haven't got those in the past, and this wasn't even the only one announced today, so I'm just gonna go along with it and enjoy it for what it is.

Pretty much, yeah.

It's always going to be a fucking weird game though. I'd always expected a Persona rhythm game but... not one like this.

The fact it has a story line they're going to have to fit around dancing segments is hilarious.

I'm excited for this most behind Persona 5 itself.

Okay, so that MIGHT have something to do with the fact that Rise is in this, but..

Seriously, though:
Can someone please explain to me, why this would be mocking Vita-owners or how this is awful/just a "fucking rhythm game"?
Did you also whine, when P4A was announced?
Rhythm games are an awesome genre. Did you never get to play a good rhythm game?
I really don't get it.

Imagine SE announcing dissidia/FF15 on the ps3, FF type 0 on the 3DS and thearhythm FF on the vita.

We've got a fighting game from ASW and a rhythm game from Dingo.

Maybe we can get a Persona 4 VN from 5pb.?

The game looks suprisely good, much better than project diva F.
However, Dingo seems to have too much work now, we could see some rush work from them..

The trailer had the dancer line up. It looked like Yukiko and Naoto aren't included?

I like the idea. I'm hoping Miku makes a cameo.

Everybody wins with the announcements from Atlus.
