Every RPG people complain about grinding in is usually a game I've never actually had to grind in, except by choice (to look for a specific item or Persona).
I remember for years everyone complaining about how grindy Dragon Quest games are and when I started playing one, I was shocked by how easily every stumbling block was solved by changing my strategy or thinking around it.
Right. Before I played DQ VIII I heard all about how hard and grindy it is but when I played I found out that it was pretty easy. Never grinded once, except for the post game.
I don't understand the hype for Persona 5 when I felt the same for Persona 4 for the PS2, bought it when it came out, loved the dialogs, the japanese setting and the story but eventually lost all interest and stopped playing the game because even though the battle system is great, crawling around dungeons is mindnumbingly boring!
I just cannot, for the life of me, accept in this day and age dungeons with lots of levels that all have more or less the same layout, similar art designs and mobs/bosses positioning. Dungeon after dungeon. And you do the exact same things in each of them. Christ almighty, just no.
Persona 5 has a lot to prove to be worth considering a purchase, personally.
P5 may ditch the random dungeons and change up the formula so wait and see.
Teddie by himself stole 90% of all the darkness from the plot. That's not to say that Persona 4 didn't have dark moments but compare that to 3:Not to mention that only 2 people, and only one of them that people actually cared about very vaguely, died during the whole thing.Persona 3 had its light moments too, of course, it's just that they weren't in focus as much as Persona 4 built most of the game around light moments.Strega murdering people during the dark hour because it was interesting, Kenji dieing, Ken's mom being murdered by Kenji, Chidori repeatedly cutting herself and her death, Mitsuru's father dieing, having to kill a friend one way or the other near the end as the avatar of Nyx, apathy syndrome victims everywhere, etc. etc.
Shinji not Kenji lol.
