Most angry you have ever been playing a videogame?

Fuck all of this

god-of-war-spinning-spike-column.png

I remember this shit. Also that part where you had to balance Kratos across some beams. That shit made me rage.

Shadow of the Colossus Hard Mode Time Attack #3 & #15. Almost broke a controller because of it. The final achievement keeping me away from my Platinum. Still haven't done it even though I somehow did them back in the PS2 days. UGH!! /tableflip

I'm not some kind of 'MLGPROYOLOSWAG' gamer, but reading several of these makes me want to play them. There's something about a 'hard' game or sequence that is satisfying to challenge and overcome. I like a game that doesn't let you 'bully' your way through; it earns my respect. Maybe it's because I grew up playing NES games that were Nintendo Hard™. :D

TTT2 online. I wanted to break the damn disc.

I have a strange love/hate relationship with that game. But mostly hate I guess lol

You might wanna give the older games on the COD series a try on the hardest settings. Grenade spams will make you wanna jump off a cliff.... Ridiculous I tell you

Gears of war turned me in to an angry person, even off game it took me a few hours to calm down....

EXACTLY the same thing happened to me (only ever with MP, however). What the hell is it with this franchise? I'm neither a competitive nor angry person, but this game Jekyll & Hyde'd me something shocking. It affected me socially, mentally, physically... It was bad. It would have peaked with me throwing a drum stick into my wall, making a small hole. It felt good, but man, is it embarrassing to think about now.

Still one of the best games ever, though :)

competitive fighting games in general. raging cause tv lag, dropped combos. stupid frame advantages certain characters had.

a little bit of me died when i decided that top tier was the way to go.

i lost one match because i was frustrated just threw my stick to the floor and kicked it. bad idea, hori real arcade pro 3 is built like a tank. my toes started hurting like 30 mins later.

Button mashers and spammers in online fighting games. That's pretty much the only time I get angry playing games, and the reason why I hardly play those games, although I love fighting games.

Although that one time I lost more than two million souls in Dark Souls by falling off the same ledge twice, I got somewhat angry...

Haha yeah I did mean multiplayer, I'm actually happy last generation is gone, because aslong as Xbox 360 was there I couldn't let go of gears haha

I even had the dam cole trains melee sound in my head at work etc lol

That game was lethal, like the crack of video games lol

This shit right here:

I swear Nintendo made the controls become deliberately worse for this minigame. Never had a problem using the damn harp at any other point in the game, but it was friggin' unusable here. Never again.

first one I can remember

Defeating SFII on the sNES on 7 star difficulty with Chun Li (I was going for all Perfects mind you)

the last time

Going for Big Boss rank on MGS4 on act 4 (the car chase act), without using auto aim or the solar gun.

Starcraft: I play Zerg.
Marvel 3: fuck Vergil. FUCK ZERO.
Surprisingly I'm really chill in DOTA2. Not so when I was just starting out though. That was back in like 2006 or so with DOTA.

Dark Souls during tge part with those guys who backstab you right before the capra demon. I almost squeezed my cobtroller to death. I felt the plastic getting ready to snap in my grip.

I only get mad for two reasons.

1. My own incompetence at the game. The later levels and bonus levels in Super Meat Boy for example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTPT2kv6PXw, Certain bosses in Dark Souls, etc
2. When a game glitch or bug just screws me over so hard. I recall playing though nearly 20 chapters in N+ online co-op and losing them all for some unknown reason.

Wizards and Warriors II: Ironsword

Picture it: My room, December 1989. I'm 14 and playing through one of the few games I got for Christmas. I was a huge fan of the original W&W. I get to the earth realm. There's an item or something I need in a c-shaped rock platform. You have to jump into the open side of the "c" to get the item. I tried that jump 100s of times. Maybe 1000s. I never made it. When you miss you slide down and have to run around to set up again.

I've never been too hot-headed with games. I've never broken controllers. But that day I became so angry and frustrated that I used a lighter to heat a small screwdriver to high temperatures and jammed it straight through the cartridge. Such satisfaction! The best part was that since the majority of the NES game PCBs were in the bottom 1/4 of the cartridge, it still worked afterwards, and I was able to sell it.

I no longer remember the specifics but I remember swearing like crazy and punching the couch cushions every time I screwed up in the final six races of Ridge Racer 6.

You had to do pretty much everything perfectly.

Battlefield: The Thread.

Non-stop spray 200 rounds from a belt fed machinegun at a guy no more than 3m away, while crouched and aiming down sights. Guy lives, 10th of a second burst fires 3 rounds. Instant death, guy is on like 90 health.

Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to play.

I got pretty angry playing Uncharted 2 and soaking the Train Boss with a zillion bullets and he wouldn't die. I finally learned that you can't kill him with bullets . . . you can only kill him with QTE.

Dragon Age 2
.when the Arishok raises his hand to interrupt the PC from finishing the conversation and immediately orders the Qunari (in Qunlat) to attack the party
.i was enraged and yelled 'don't fuck with me' on the screen, wanting to punch the Arishok with my fists through the fourth wall

Why? (in-game)
.i spent considerable amount of time trying to solve/help the Arishok, but he downright refused to listen

And
.i don't like Dragon Age 2 much (border lining hate), but this section of the game really riled me up <- Good writing
.i was damn angry and grinding my teeth at the Arishok
.never felt this way before <- in a game
..that too from an ingame event/story/plot

Love the game, but some people can be infuriating. Everyone has bad games, but I can't stand trolls. Played an ARAM match where, about a few minutes in, one random called another one out for making a mistake. Other random snaps and the two started talking crap to each other, wanted to 1 v 1 next match. They stay at the base to keep bitching at each other, and then a third player goes AFK. So it's pretty much 2 v 5 for the game. Tried talking them down to resume playing, but they were too much into their pissing contest. *sigh*

Another time, I was watching my girlfriend play, and she had the pleasure of having her mid, a Twisted Fate, sell all his items after feeding hard, and buy up wards. Then he spent the rest of the match continuing to feed and spread wards all over the map. I just got pissed off just watching her deal with that crap.

Nothing the last few generations have made me rage. Now going back to play old school stuff? I can see how the Angry video game nerd was created.

Revenge of Shinobi recently...but I might say a few "Really?!" and a "WTF DAMN IT" here and there...nothing too crazy.

I will say nothing pisses me off more than cheap deaths and off screen enemies.

halo: combat evolved anniversary.
i used to be godly at halo ce on the original xbox, playing on legendary difficult was a bizarre.
then many many years later not playing halo ce anymore, i bought and played halo cea...
now i suck at it on legendary difficult. it gets me pissed off too easily that it's not fun.
also, dark souls; still fun, tho.

- Losing Pole Position II match on Atari 7800, threw cartridge at brother; it lodged in the baseboard heater grill and created a wondrous smell come winter
- Losing like twenty rounds in a row of MK2 on Sega 32X => friend's controller bitten to shit
- Losing Tekken 2 matches to the AI on PS1 => punched television control set, cutting knuckles up severely
- Losing to Akuma in SPF on GBA => punched GBA, cracking screen, destroying half of it (could still play just couldn't see opponent's screen!)
- Unable to hit the god-damned sandworm with the grappling hook in Wind Waker on GC => flipped coffee table full of stuff over
- Motherfucking bullshit combat in Dragon Age 2 on PC => smashed Das Keyboard into pieces
- Dying during uninterruptible combat animations in Space Marine on PC => smashed Xbox 360 wired controller, which in the process took some small chunks out of my hardwood oak desk

I'm doing a lot better now!

Arkham City comes to mind, when I tried (and finally succeeded) achieving the Freeflow Perfection 2.0 trophy. I'd usually just forget or miss one final move so I had to start over. I'm not the kind to throw controllers (that shit is expensive), but I did punch my wall a few times haha. Poor knuckles.

I wouldn't blame the Arishok for this - just blame DAII's shoddy writing. Doesn't matter who you spend the whole game cozying up to, they'll all turn on you in the end whether it makes sense or not. Can't have players getting different boss fights based on their choices, after all.

Can't think of a specific moment. But I used to get pretty rage-y as a kid playing 8-bit platformers with those nasty insta-death moments. (i.e. Ninja Gaiden)

2 Tram Takedowns in a 2 lap race.

Holy hell I spent an entire day on this repeating the race over and over until I finally did it. This was the one and only challenge I had any problem with and my god it pissed me off royally. My brother was in the next room over and was subject to hearing my colourful language throughout, which considering I'm usually a fairly quiet person was a shock to him.

Fuck that challenge, I did it in the end but man. Fuck it.

The entirety of Jak II turned me into a psychopath.

This.

One mission of complete unfairness after another. I'd spend hours and countless attempts on one mission just to get shoved into another that had just as unfair design.

Miraculously i was able to beat the final boss on my first try after hearing it was just as unfair as the rest of the game.

Playing the Cylon Raider mission in the PS2/Xbox Battlestar Galactica game. It was ridiculously hard because you had to fly in formation with other Cylon Raiders or get blown up in seconds and the game refused to let me save my progress.

Street Fighter 4... I lost a girlfriend and 2 Mad Catz controllers over my baby man tantrums.

these people will never get that feeling you get when you've played thousands of hours and yet you know you're garbage at this game

I know that feel
