Hah, this brings back memories.
I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to complete the last tree monkey puzzle for ages.
Still yet to ever beat that game, think I only ever made it halfway through.
Anyway, I am known by my friends as being quite the rage-y sort of gamer. A lot of the time I exaggerate my rage in public as it seems to create some good laughs for my friends (I'm told my insults to the game can be quite creative!), and elsewhere I'm generally a lot more calm than what I used to be, but I still have my moments when I'm on my own.
Most of my damage has been caused on PC. Being a FIFA player leads to infuriating moments more often than not, which naturally leads to gamepads flying. In addition, I'm also a Trackmania fanatic, and well, when you're searching for thousandths of a second in that game sometimes, even the slightest mistake can cause intense anger.
All up, I think I've broken 4 or 5 different variations of PC gamepads over the past 5 years due to this. Most of them are Xbox 360 controllers used on PC. I've also done damage to a keyboard and a mouse years back due to COD, and about a year and a half ago BF3 led me to break a handrest off my G15 keyboard. I've also broken the grip to an old Logitech MOMO Racing Wheel (which already had faulty pedals though) and I think I may have lost one cheap headset. These days if I'm willing to throw a controller I have a moment of clarity seeking out the object that I can throw it into without causing any damage before letting loose

. I have a shorter tether now anyway so more often than not I quit a game before I let things get too out of hand.
On consoles I've been a bit more in check, but there's still some damage. I've only ever completely broken two controllers on console, two Wiimotes due to the mother fucking "The Perfect Run" in Super Mario Galaxy 2. The day I finally beat that after 2 years of on and off attempts at it was glorious. Apart from that my old Xbox 360 controller is a bit beat up but still works, same with one of my DS3s. My Gamecube controllers somehow survived F-Zero GX, which is up there on my rage-inducing games list, especially when I lost a Story Mode complete + all Arcade cups completed save due to a corrupted memory card. That's a day I'll never forget...
When I look back on all of this though, I find that by releasing stress and anger on objects like this (and with my love for aggressive metal music), I feel happier and quite relaxed pretty much everywhere else. It gives me a sort of balance I guess. I cop the cost of replacing controllers and other items, but if I can keep that anger and attitude away from other areas of my life, I'm happy for it to stay that way.
