Has Watchdogs lost all of its momentum for 2014?

Legitimately forgot this was still coming out until this thread popped up. Since the delay we've heard almost nothing about it.

I was disappointed to start, but now I'm sort of glad it was delayed.

Because apparently it wasn't good in November. Someone posted that in a previous thread and I actually looked into the claim yesterday and it was somewhat corroborated.

Hopefully that's changed by the time it is finally out.

I remember watching the trailer/presentation at NY comic con, and I was bored as fuck the entire time....and it seemed like the rest of the audience were too. I have not been impressed by anything about this game--generic main character, awful gunplay, the hacking stuff didn't seem fun, etc

Ubisoft will definitely put the marketing in overdrive closer to the game's release. They'll bring the hype back. And trust me the delay was more than worth it. Watch_Dogs will be a much better game than it would have been if it was released back in November.

Are you Aisha Tyler , Aisha Tyler? Or just some one else with the same name...anywho

I hope the delay helps Watch_Dogs get some serious new overhauls put in place. I showed it around. The moment it was revealed at e3 and all my friends were interested. I wonder if the last gen is holding it back. Maybe they just need to make it next gen only including Wii U.

For some reason I thought this was confirmed for a March release but apparently is slated for Q2.

I got the feeling it will drop in the summer because the next assassins creed game will be dropping this fall and they don't want to compete with each other. Probably June or mid July.

Glad it got delayed(still hyped), gave me enough time to platinum AC4 :). hopefully second son and this won't release at the same time.

I've never understood the hype for this title. As far as open world games go, Watch Dogs has the most boring generic setting/premise. Shooting thugs and hacking cameras in modern day Chicago is at the far end of interesting places I want to explore in a videogame.

To me it always looked like AC in a modern city with hacking thrown in. Which in gameplay videos looked pretty damn lame.

The first look showed tons of promise and had outstanding graphics. But with every new piece of gameplay we got, the graphics would become more and more downgraded. And the more people examined the structure of the game, the more Watch Dogs seemed to be revealing itself as Ass Creed: GTA Edition.

I think it's going to be a good open world game, just nothing special.

Wait, Aisha Tyler now posts here, or is this some weird parody account?

The hype for this game took a hit to the chest when they delayed it. I haven't read anything on it since the delay. This thread has me looking at the game again and hoping it is worth the delay.

Aisha Tyler, Aisha Tyler as in co-host of the talk and Whose line is it anyway?, star of Archer, comedian and author? Than yes its me. ;)

All these nonstop, back to back delays have completely killed everything. That said I do still plan on getting it... assuming the damn thing is ever released and I don't forget about it again which reminds me, thank you for reminding me that this game exists op lol

If it's released in the first half of 2014 (and that's a big if), probably not. The new systems aren't filled to the brim with AAA games that Watchdogs is about to get lost in the shuffle just yet. These systems are still craving big games that will sell next gen to the average gamer. Watchdogs can certainly help with that, though that obviously depends on the quality of the game.

Yeah, its dropped of the radar big time. Ubi went from showing something every other week, to absolutely nothing. Watchdogs gone limp..

Its weird, my excitement for the game went from "Gimme Now!" after the e3 demo 2 years ago. To... to a lot less excited. Maybe its all the gameplay footage theyv shown. feels like iv already played the damn game!

I'll give you the co-hosting, comedian, and author titles, but the star of Archer is H. Jon Benjamin, madam.

I too forgot all about the game and honestly, it's gone from guaranteed purchase to maybe pick it up after price drop/good reviews.

Got bored of it the third time they showed a demo of it. But yeah i think it probably has lost a lot of potential sales.

I still have hope it will be a decent Ubisoft open world game to fill in during the long summer drought. It wont ever live up to the initial reveal though, that much is clear

The hype train is always around the corner. Now you don´t care about a game, now you would kill someone to get it.

Oy, I truly forgotten all about Watch Dogs, lol. Hope it does well when it does release, even though I am largely uninterested now.

When Black Flag started looking like the better game, I was happy it got delayed. Still pretty hyped for it, but mostly because of the lack of next-gen releases out right now.

As long as they don't make us climb up the stairs of a skyscraper to hack a mainframe or something that lets you uncover more of the city map, followed by an unskippable cut-scene, my hype will remain.

But no really, I'm looking forward to it.

Feels like Ubisoft pulled another Ryaman Legends; by taking it out of the timing in which the game was hyped for, they severely damaged the potential for the game itself. Just as how Rayman was no longer a killer app for starved Wii U owners when it was moved to a very competitive late 2013 release; it was mostly forgotten. Watch Dogs being moved from a premiere next-gen game to some nebulous time in early 2014 also made people forget about it.

Pretty sure that stuff is in the game.

Pretty sure that stuff is in the game.

It's 4am, and I typed "or something" for no grammatical reason. I meant it all as one thing, seen as Ubi likes us to climb things to unlock maps. I like FarCry 3, but good god those radio towers..

Id say it has.
Was super hyped at E3 and its gone down abit ever since.

Its an Ubisoft game and those drop in price rather quickly so i will wait till i see it on sale in the $39 range

Holy. Freaking. Crap.

I won't believe this. I can't believe this. Can we get some Mod verification up in hiiiiiiyaaaahhh?!

Edit: FOOLS! You're obviously forgetting...

GTA5 really changed expectations for open world games.......I would argue its one of the biggest jumps for a given genre since HL2 with FPS

I wished they'd use the time to change the character design. The baseball cap with the overcoat thing doesn't really work for me.

I think it could do just fine if it launched sooner rather than later, given the slim pickings right now.

But if it waits til summer 2014 and on? Lots of good games coming out that look way better than this one....

I was interested at first, but the gameplay I saw reminded me too much of bioshock infinite. You shoot, then click on the prompts to make stuff happen in the environment. In Infinite, that'd be Elizabeth pulling in something from an alternate reality. In Watch Dogs, it is that you turn on traffic lights or something.

Still, if it came out next week and got at least decent reviews (7s and up) I'd likely get it just for lack of much else to play on Ps4. Since I beat Killzone (liked it more than others did) it has pretty much been my Bf4 and NBA2k14 machine.
