Orton is horrible. The Big Show has more varied offense than him. Orton makes Khali look like El Torito in terms of speed.
I already bought his shirt, but the little jimmies are still on that Cena shit. WWE is afraid of losing that crowd if they bury Cena for Daniel Bryan. I don't even know why Orton has the belt. He's such a boring champion.
I agree. I don't think it appeals to the younger crowd.
Batista won the rumble? That's, odd to me. I don't know much about him, but coming back and in the same week winning a paperview seems a tad dumb, or is that common? I have nothing against him, really, I just don't understand why he won. Is he going to get a big push or something? Isn't he like 45 years old?
A problem is Bryan's merch doesn't have a "style" to it, it's a mish mash of goofy shirts. Cena has a (butt ugly) style to his merchandise, Punk has a style to it, Orton's has a style, AJ's has a style to it, and Cena, Orton, Punk, Bryan and AJ are the top merch sellers.
They need to make a unified theme for Bryan's merch already.
This Meltzer and Alvarez discussion is interesting and infuriating at the same time about Bryan.

Wow I can't wait to see how Batista freaks out if the fans turn on him. He can't handle it at all. Cena is so much better and dealing with it.
Cena always treats a rowdy crowd as a challenge to turn them over to his side. That's something you have to appreciate about the guy even if you don't like him.
A slight issue, his merchandise is terrible. Punk's is very good, and he sells merch only second to Cena.
Where can I hear this? This Meltzer and Alvarez discussion is interesting and infuriating at the same time about Bryan.
Where can I hear this?
thankswww.f4wonline.com it's normally subscriber only, but they are testing out live streaming software right now so they have a 24 hour stream for free right now. Of course, when each show replays is kind of a crap shoot, since its just constantly streaming the weeks shows but interrupts for new, live broadcasts
Is Batista's return the worst "big" return for a superstar that's been gone for awhile and come back? I think it's been handled very poorly plus Batista looks so small and has titties now. His whole gimmick was he was a monster and now he's just a metrosexual Rock wannabe.
This. How hard could it be to make a good "YES" related shirt? The red one was alright, a fuckload better than the dumbass beard one he has now.
I remember hearing that Punk was outselling Cena at one point during 2011? Is that true or am I way off? I saw those white Punk shirts EVERYWHERE, and I haven't seen wrestling shirts in public since the Attitude Era.
Hopefully they cut it in two like TNA.WWE is now following Impact's lead of PPV-themed Raw's:

This is how my good people on Wrasslin-Gaf felt last night lol.
Backlash. An appropriate name if I've ever heard one for what they did last night.WWE is now following Impact's lead of PPV-themed Raw's:
The giant gerbil looked legit shook last night.
Even Orton had the wherewithal to implement his character into the crowd's reaction.

Giant gerbil? That's mean. If I was a gerbil, I'd be offended. The giant gerbil looked legit shook last night.

Like some others have stated Daniel Bryan has a lot of pop and the crowd loves him. They're just not buying his merchandise.
Bryan's merch is garbage. Seriously, a goat head on a T-shirt? Make a cool Bryan shirt and it will sell like crazy.
I mean, where does WWE go from here? Does it even matter? Are people going to watch hoping for a good show, or are they going to watch just to see how much more of a disaster it becomes?
There's not even a 1% chance what happened at the end of the PPV was what WWE wanted. The crowd shitting on Batista and the Rumble? That's never desirable.
There's probably a smaller work going on, but as usual they wildly underestimated how popular Bryan is, and it went way out of control.
Meltzer made some interesting points on the LAW last night, namely that when Daniel Bryan did get his push and PPV and rating numbers didn't really go up, the WWE might feel like they already gave the fans what they wanted and it didn't do good enough numbers. Another was that with the WWE Network starting up, this next WM needs to appeal to casual fans moer than ever to get them to buy into the network, so you might see them relying even more on nostalgia (hence Batista) and the "good old days" than ever before leading up to Wrestlemania 30.
I'm not buying that. The last Survivor Series buyrate was an absolute disaster, the lowest since the early 90's and the show largely built around Orton who was and still is champion. WWE is going to push whoever they want no matter what.
Such a disappointing show for so many reasons, but what really grinds my gears is the number of wasted spots in the Rumble itself. Khali, JBL, El Torito, Truth and arguably Kane were all a complete waste of time and valuable spots that could have been used to make the match...entertaining. The only surprise entrant was Nash? That guy who made the exact same comeback a couple of years ago having texted himself? Sting, Hogan, maybe AJ Styles, Generico, Taker? Just a little bit of effort would have really spiced things up.
It's more that like Batista this year, Rock came in cold and then won a bunch without getting people invested.
Also, face Bryan vs heel Cena would actually draw huge. But they'll never pull the trigger on it.

Yeah. If the Rumble is 40 guys, you can afford one or two joke entrants. With 30 men, it really should be the top-tier guys and a few pleasant surprises/blasts from the past.
I was disappointed they didn't resolve Bryan v. Wyatt within the Rumble itself. And watching Brock Lesnar wheeze and gasp through 10 minutes of post-match chair shots was painful.
Honestly, the only way they should go is to put Bryan in that Batista vs. Orton match at Mania.
WWE is very lucky there's no alternative like WCW around, so they can do what they want and both the wrestlers and the viewing public have nowhere else to go. It's a shame.
And no guys, New Japan is not an alternative to WWE, it's great and awesome, but a completely different beast.
I like how a lot of the tweets are making this look like a work. Maybe we bought right into WWE's foil?
This has to just be an worked angle. Nothing they're doing is making Bryan less marketable or popular; he's getting even more over than he was before because people believe he's being buried against their will.
They haven't even cared enough to name his new finisher any time in the last five months. A consistent theme for merchandise isn't coming any time soon. It's mind boggling that they haven't done so yet with the amount of pop he's been getting. I doubt they will bother if they decide to bury him tonight.
