Game Informer March: Metal Gear Solid V (Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain)

Guys, seriously how can i buy this? i'm from europe.

One option would be to buy it from ebay.com where Game Informer issues are being sold at normal price - but shipping might bite you in the ass, not sure how much this is worth to you though

Yeah, I'm hella worried looking at that sentence =/

There's no room for interpretation if you read the context.

We had four hours of exclusive hands-on time with Ground Zeroes, which we used to play through the main mission and experiment with extra modes.

"play through". Four hours is enough time to "play through" the mission and try the extra modes. I think it's 100% clear.

I don't get how this is a problem though. 4 hours is in line with some (if not a lot of) FPSs campaigns these days.

Thanks man. Is there really no way to only buy this one issue digital?

Great Shinkawa. This whole shit of the prologue being released early separately with a ridiculous price tag has really diluted my hype for the game. Well that and the whole MGS4 nonsense.

Those games have hundreds of hours of play value in multiplayer, hardly a good comparison.

I really enjoyed mgs 2 and mgs3

Mgs4 killed the series for me. Crap game

I have high hopes for this game since I've loved odd-numbered MGS entries while even-numbered entries have been shit.

MGS1, MGS3 = awesome
MGS2, MGS4 = bananomachines

You're correct. I'm mostly a single player guy so I don't care much for multiplayer play value, which is why I made the comparison.

I played the shit out of the mgs2 demo that came with the zone of enders. Toward the end before the game came out I could probably fly by demo in 20-35 minutes flat. I know it will probably be the same for ground zeros. So the price isn't a problem for me.

I dont know how old or young you are but MGS2 gets better every time you play it. I played it when it came out (I was 18) and played it again when I was 27 and enjoyed it realy realy much......

MGS4 is the opposite for me...how longer I play it how worse it gets.

MGS1>MGS3>MGS2>MGS4

I'm 36. Don't know what this has got to do with age.

Can't believe I'm doing this...

For me:
MGS3 > MGS1.

I can't play past the tanker section in MGS2 (tried again, recently). I hated Big Shell back then, still hate it.

Funny, ive been throwing away gameinformers for the past year, and now that one comes out with some cool cover art I want to have, my subscription runs out.

Should have played it just once, now it's been forever tainted and the more you play it the more you'll hate it.
Keep it up and pretty soon you'll be making 1,000 words posts about how shitty the game is.

Excuse my photo editing skills.

It should, charging $40 for a glorified demo is fucking absurd.

I'm coming around to this argument actually.

I was reminded of the Blood Dragon and Call of Juarez: Gunslinger model. Lean, AAA-experience, that is a spin-off of the main series. Seems like it would fit the areas of Ground Zeroes perfectly.

I can understand a slight price increase to $20 or $25 to account for the extra physical distribution costs, but $40 seems a bit much.

Doesn't particularly effect me since the game isn't on PC
yet
. Just musing.

Hey, it's not my cup of tea, but at least the reveal was actually a big title worth a lengthy reveal! And maybe this one will bring me back into the fold!

Nice reveal, featuring one of my favorite series. Big fan of the artwork too.

One reason I'm happy I haven't been following either of the games' development cycle closely is that GZ is almost here and the wait won't be too bad for me.

This is what this whole thing reminds me of. I had a friend who spent $50 on ZOE just for the MGS2 demo. Konami knows they can get away with charging $30-40 for what people are calling a glorified demo. It's been so long since a main entry in MGS that people are excited for even a taste. Also, if the scope of Phantom Pain is as huge as they're saying, I can't blame them for using this release to help fund/offset the dev costs. I'm sure a lot of people won't bite on GZ (at least until a price drop), and I'd bank on there eventually being a release with GZ and PP together, but I think the people who are excited for this won't mind the relatively high price for entry to be able to play some new MGS next month.

That's not a bad choice for a cover. I think what they've shown about ground zeroes from a stealth gameplay point of view is atrocious and another example of "modern stealth", but there's a lot about the main game that I'm still interested in finding out. The idea of open world stealth really intrigues me.

Is there a hint of hope in this post? Can't be
