Game Informer March: Metal Gear Solid V (Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain)

So here's a quick theory on the cover:

I find it interesting that there's no text on the cover to indicate what game this is, especially given this is a magazine cover.

But we all recognize that character. "That's Snake. This is Metal Gear." And this is exactly what Kojima wants us to think.

I really think that, alongside race, MGSV will cover the theme of "Identity". Especially with the whole "Moby Dick Studios" and "Joakim Mogren" thing going on in the beginning.

Hopefully, Kojima will twist around our expectations again just as he did with MGS2.

Please make MGSV crazy, Kojima.

Guys,

For me it goes like this:

MGS3>MGS1>PW>MGS2>MGS4

I won't buy GZ at launch not even if they announced a MGO3 pack in.

I'll wait for the eventual bundle for the PS4.

About time they start to hype it up.. I feel like the game is flying under the radar for most people, specially with Titanfall and Infamous coming out at the same time, but still, it's my second most expected game of March (The Show takes the cake).

By the end of Ground Zeroes, we'll learn that
Sutherland's voice being for Snake is a ruse. Hayter will be back as Snake in The Phantom Pain. In the initial Phantom Pain trailer, Sutherland's voice was not that of Snake, but the imaginary guy who was leading Snake through the hallway as Snake was crawling along the floor... Sutherland will be the voice of the main villain in Phantom Pain, while he was the "voice of Snake" in Ground Zeroes.

I'm calling it. There is going to be a major twist around all this.

Yeah, something like this will happen, i'm sure of it too. In the E3 trailer we never hear Sutherland talk and see Snake open his mouth at the same time. Its always Sutherland talking and Snake having his back turned like when he free's Kaz from Afghanistan.

In my opinion, you're missing out on a lot. Not just here, but anytime you avoid something that isn't "canon."

The VR Missions helped me master the gameplay mechanics, while - at the same time - providing a fresh take on MGS2.

You realize that the VR mission concept has been done in MGS1 Integral? and playing as Snake in these missions doesnt equal as a reason to play these missions considering Kojima basically took him out halfway through the game leaving us with a guy that grates on our senses?

I think they're both beautiful, but for the original Snake Eater, most felt the pal art was better than it's US counterpart.

Yes we did, snagged mine from France and it looks great...
even with the dent it came with -_-

As a standalone, I like the US cover.

But compared to everything else - I prefer the Subsistence cover.

I get this feeling too. The whole thing with Hayter only makes me feel more like something strange is going on, although Kojima didn't switch out Snake's Japanese voice actor.

i still don't understand this game

Are they two separate titles under the MGSV banner, is like like GT5 where GZ serves are Prologue..

Yeah, they both fall under the MGS V banner. GZ is the prologue, which takes place 9 years prior to the events of TPP. GZ is merely a prologue, which means that it's much shorter in scope and length than TPP.

TPP is the mainline game.

It's confusing indeed, but it's what they've decided to do.
