Outlast PS4 |OT|

Started the game with headphones on, lights out.

5 minutes later, lights back on.

10 minutes later, headphones unplugged.

20 minutes later, I'm at the system home screen.

funk. dat.

Interesting. Did you use the Share button to get the PS4 screenshot? Could explain the difference a little bit. I don't recall it looking that blurry when I played a little bit ago, but I could certainly be remembering wrong.

I did use the share button but i also set fraps to JPG to take the screen shot on PC if that matters. I switched between the two by having them both on at the same time on my TV and the PS4 version is clearly more blurry.

Ah, okay, thanks. Still close, but yeah, the PC version is obviously sharper.

Downloaded in just under an hour for me. Turned off all my lights and played the first hour on Hard difficulty. Had a blast, made me jump a few times!

I lasted about the same amount of time. Can't take this right now. Looks like its going to be one of those "play at 1PM in the afternoon only" games for me...

I guess I'll download it when everyone is finished killing the PS store. What's a couple more days?

Also...opening doors slow is too fucking scary. I fling them open and start preemptively cussing.

I feel like Heipo while playing this game.

Another thing i see is the PS4 version has a lot less Aliasing while the PC version doesn't have an option to turn on Anti Aliasing. So maybe the PS4 version is using FXAA and it's causing the textures to look softer?

Tried to play this, but it's locked. It says I don't have the license for it.

This happen to anyone else?

For the record, yes, I have Plus. And my other Plus games work fine.

Jesus Christ While Im playing this game I press the ps button to go back to the ps menu and the machine starts to sound like a fucking jet!

One thing I liked immediately is the fact that, though it's first person, your character actually has a body with a little bit of weight to it. When you interact with things like a door, it didn't just magically fucking open, he grabs the door knob and uses it. You climb a ladder and no, he doesn't slide up the damn thing like a fucking camera dual welding pistols riding a levitation device, he actually goes up the ladder. You know, with his hands and shit. He only hops accordingly and it's not a weightless antigravity leap. Basically, it feels like you are someone a lot more than most first person games. This would have sucked like that one terrible Amnesia game had it been otherwise, but it's already far ahead. I was ready to throw this in the virtual trash, but it's grabbed me immediately. Good stuff, and thank you dev team for not making a janky piece of twitchy feeling crap.

Good game/10, so far.

Jump scares and can't see shit. And what moron doesn't bring a flashlight into an abandoned insane asylum?

5/10 so far.

I've played the game on PC, but now that you guys are getting the chance to try it out I was curious if anyone else is stunned by the game's visuals. At times, it's honestly a contender for one of the best looking games out there today.

This is the first time I've been really unhappy about the light bar. There it is just shining away in the darkness, serving no purpose other than to kill the mood. It's reflecting in my TV too, I might add, which was extremely noticeable because of how dark the game is (all the fucking way dark).

The game still scared me so much I had to stop playing, but whatever. It's unacceptable that there isn't a way to turn the halogen work lamp off unless the camera needs to make use of it.

I did a comparison of the PC version vs the PS4 version in case anyone was interested.

Ahhh yes, I bet that is it. Sounds like the most likely scenario.

Is this game appropriate for some 13 year old girls? My daughter is having a sleepover on Friday and they all love horror movies, is this up their alley?

Or is it like gore-porn and super disturbing shit like rape and torture?

Horror games usually don't get to me at all... but damn this game...

i'm scurrrred

Great game though lol

oh come on guys I can't be the only one whose ps4 sounds like a jet!

It's bloody, gory, chopped off limbs and some nudity.

Fuck this game.

Are the in-game clocks set to your PS4 clock? Because it really freaked me out if it's not.

No, it can be pretty bad. Spoilers below.

A lot of gore, the main character is mutilated quite a bit, a crazy person is fucking a corpse, a crazy doctor has cut of the limbs of a man who is still alive and gone insane, two people chase you with their dicks out, and probably some more.

I got my head torn off and saw it happen to someone else.

ALSO THERE ARE PEENS.

You should play Breakdown for the original Xbox, there's plenty of body awareness in that! ;)

Totally inappropriate. There is torture and disgusting imagery.

I find the game good so far.

what a great game to play in the beach

Fuck, I can't remember the last time I played a game this scary. I need a friend here so he can shit his pants and laught with me so I don't feel like such a pussy haha.

I want to download this game, but I'm currently residing in an apartment that only allows one device to be connected to the internet (my PC, in this case), meaning I can't go online with my PS4.

What would be the best method to getting around this? Could I take the PS4 to a Starbucks, use my Vita as the screen (via remote play) and download Outlast from there?
