First look at 'Twisted Metal' season 2. Premieres July 31, 2025 on Peacock.

I'm glad I gave the first season a chance, it was much better than I expected, and was full of easter eggs. Season 2 should be even more fun as the tournament is actually taking place.

Loved the first season and I'm very much looking forward to the second one, which I hope brings even just a simple remaster of TM 2012 with it.

First season exceeded my expectations, it had good writing and right amount of comedy. Actor performances was great for the most part.
isn't it like a really corny comedy? Tried to give it a chance but there was Sweethoot and some fat dumbass besides him and I was wondering why Sweethoot didn't put him out of his misery, then I checked out completely with the female character being the badass one while Falcon being the idiot

Sweetooth has less than 10% screen time, I believe they are building a good story here, hyping up Calipso, Sweetooth...etc for the 2nd season. It was great watch really, you should give it a go.

7.3 on IMDB, not bad.

The trailer made it look that way, but nope.
Is up there with Fallout for best game adaptation.

The first season was a mixed bag for me. It had some good things, and also some bad things. Sweet Tooth being the main highlight of season one, to be honest. Officer Stone, who was played by Sandman (from Spider-Man 3) was also a highlight. Downsides were the lack of car combat scenes or any Twisted Metal tournament. I feel like that was a bit of a cop-out. Can they make a better season two? We'll see.

I like the show, and I'm just going to be cruel and say it because it's true, but Mackie actually really fits the show because he has budget TV show star energy.

Read the title too fast, got excited for a new TM game.

There was a Twisted Metal game that was quietly in development at Firesprite Studios in the UK, and was planned as a live service title. But it was literally put on the back burner, or perhaps cancelled indefinitely in 2024 due to the disaster that was Concord. I have a feeling that Sony isn't done with the Twisted Metal franchise. My guess is that they will reevaluate what to do with the franchise as a non-live service game.

The show was better than I thought despise doing things pretty differently. Funny how this and Fallout, the two wasteland post apocalyptic shows ends up being the two best and interesting game to live tv series. Can't wait for season 2 of this and Fallout.

I know nothing about the Mackie actor besides seeing him as Falcon in the earlier Marvel movies and in Twisted Metal but I don't have a problem with him, seems alright especially in Twisted Metal.

People like authenticity and that's what twisted metal is about, at this point another season can't hurt it's reputation.

Not to get into too many spoilers. But season one does set up the groundwork for an actual vehicular combat tournament for season two. I don't think I have to spoiler tag that. Season one tries to do a lot of world building and establishing characters. To me the side characters are more interesting than the main characters, if you're familiar with the series, they did adapt quite a few game characters into the series. There are quite a few Easter eggs from the games.

Mackie's 'John Doe character is a bit of an 'Alice' role (Paul S. Anderson's Resident Evil films) in the series, but works just fine. He does give the series some form of narrative that ties everything together. Even if his story arc is kinda predictable.

I was mixed on season one, but overall, I didn't hate it, and there are some good highlight moments in the show.

He comes off as low energy and bored in Marvel.
Seems to be much more in his element with Twisted Metal.

Actually, the cancelation of the Twisted Metal live-service predates the release of Concord by six months and Concord's proper reveal at the State of Play by three months.

Reason why it was ultimately canceled was that the team over at Firesprite had failed to come up with a cohesive vision for the project after more than two years of pre-preproduction (plus all the years it had spent in development at Lucid Games, prior to the project shifting studios), plus the fact that Firesprite itself was bleeding talent from poor studio-level management, so they focused all remaining resources at the company on the other and closer to completion project that they had in the works: Until Dawn 2.

Where the F is a new Twisted Metal game???
I'm sick of Last of Us remasters and remakes. The brand of PS must sink.
It's about time we get a new awesome Twisted Metal game. I think it should come especially now with the good reception of the tv show and season 2 should be even better. I think they want to get people used to it again first with the show before launching a big game.

Oh, you're right.. Thanks for the correction on that. Also, checking various websites online, there was a Gamespot article from March 3rd 2025 that confirms that it was cancelled before the Concord, for some reason I thought it was cancelled after the fact, given that the game was going in the direction of a Live Service title. But it was part of the mass Sony layoffs.

To be honest, I didn't even know there was a season 1.

Well you know, it is on Peacock which makes it hard to miss. Peacock isn't even available here in Canada, I had a chance to watch it on Paramount+ Canada.
