I loved this game back in the days, i even install it nowadays sometimes. The no save option made it so thrilling.
The weapon feeling is also unmatched.

I loved this game back then, bought bundled in some magazine.

I'm also pretty sure to never gone past the first mission, but as a kid I just liked to move around and shoot some bullets. I also remember it as super difficult.

This is my exact experience with Descent. Magazine type disk, first level, disorienting and meandering but still fun as a kid just to do.

I still have the physical PC releases of this and the sequel. Played the hell out of it back in high school. I remember people complaining about the lack of checkpoints in the missions but my brothers and I managed to get through it easy enough. Loved it.

I remember playing this multiple times but never getting far. It was fascinating for the day, but so fucking difficult? That I recall at least.

I was also playing a lot more another game on the same engine, Joint Strike fighter

Proof that given enough time even the most mediocre of games attracts the rose tinted nostalgia goggle types.

It was a 6/10 game then and it's still a 6/10 game now.

I really wanted this game back in the day, but my computer at the time wouldn't have been able to run it. I can't imagine it's aged particularly well, and I don't think it was all that well received in the first place. Even so, I'm always kinda happy to see it mentioned.

Took me two months to finish the game. That russia border crossing mission was really hard. Later that castle level was amazing.
