Charlie Kirk assassinated at Utah campus event

I really feel we've gone far beyond the precipice of normality.

I feel that quite a few folks knew it was all going a bit awry, but Charlie's murder has really put it in the map..



There really is something so rotten at its core. Is this a simple case of society breaking away from a unison of having a singular belief in faith? You can argue against it, but it is a point. In a sense, are these people are lost? You could argue that when you come away from a unified faith then what do you hold up? Trans rights? A victim hood culture? A belief that Christianity was evil? What?

Is it a case that he was too good at what he was doing thus putting a spanner in the indoctrinated plans of these universities? You can scoff, but just look at what these places are now producing for society..

Why are these folks who role around in glee doing it?

You may not have agreed with his politics, you may not agree with Christianity, but this?

Words?

How does one come to a point of view that living in a society where it is broadcast live that a man gets shot in the throat, in front of his wife and kids as a 'good thing', for words?

There's something fundamentally wrong here.

I've personally brought a kid up and this is far beyond a world I wanted for him, I'm even dubious now about him even going into further education

Basically. What the fuck is going on? And can we get off?

Dawkins is as fanatic as any religious fundamentalist. A guy called Einstein, maybe it's familar to you, believed in God. Just an example of how opposing religion to science is one of the fallacies of the radical atheists. And by the way, Atheism is also a religion. It ticks all the boxes and links to radical (and deranged) pseudo-scientific theories more harming than any crusade or yihad. There are many men of science who would destroy every life on the planet in pursue of "scienfitic truth". That's religious fundamentalism.

I am an atheist because I dont believe in God. Period. However, dismissing the importance of religion for humankind is nonsense. Many people NEED to believe. The left has replaced God with a bunch of "idols" that serve the same purpose, but without the virtues of the religious deities. All the crazy ideologies going around Today are RELIGIONS. Gender theories, climate apocalypse, transhumanism... They are all anti science and their main voices are all lunatics. The idea that without religion our minds are "free" is laughable, to say the least.

Religions are myths, most believers know that. These myths are the "materialization" of abstract ideas (God, the creation of the universe) that our minds cannot comprehend. People need to hang on to them. and if you take them away, they will search for a replacement. For lefties, it's called marxism.
 
I really feel for his wife at the moment. I can't imagine what it's like grieving whilst also trying to explain this horrible tragedy to their 3 year old daughter. I imagine the little one has asked for her daddy numerous times over the past 48h only to receive a painful and confusing response — sometimes accepting and sometimes tearfully rejecting. And yet, the acute pain of this will transform into a deep sadness after months pass and the requests for daddy become fewer then seldom as her memory of him slowly fades. As a father of a 3 year old, this is my nightmare.

The Left have been perpetually shooting themselves in the foot for a while now, and that continues with Charlie Kirk's death. They can chuckle and joke all they want, but the whole world is watching their behavior. If it wasn't obvious before, they have completely lost the moral high ground on this one.

To be fair, there are plenty of them that have been respectful and sympathetic to the situation, but unfortunately there have been a lot of them that have not, and they have been very loud and obnoxious with their opinion. If "violence is our language and we will celebrate when someone on your side is murdered" is their message, then fine. Duly noted.

People aren't going to forget this.

Just a reminder that the vast, vast majority of people on both the left and right are rational, kind, normal people that are just trying to get through life and trying to support themselves and their loved ones. This whole narrative of "democrats want us dead" is such absolute horseshit. It does not allign with reality. Just as the narrative of "republicans want a trans genocide" is horseshit.

This terminally online culture is creating overwhelming harm to people's mental health and perception of the world around them.

I edited and bolded your post to focus on something I find disturbing about it.

I consider myself an atheist and I think that you have all the rights and liberty to believe in religion if it suits you well. You find comfort or solace in it, cool and good for you.

It's not my job to convince/warn you about my own opinion/thoughts about religion, as I consider it would be disrespectful to your beliefs.

But it's also not your job to warn people or teach people about what the bible/god and by extension, you, considers a sin.

As an atheist, I would consider this attitude towards me disrespectful of my liberty and right to not believe in religion.

I think there's a misunderstanding with the way you are understanding my message. I wouldn't ever go around telling random people whether they're gay, religious, atheist, or otherwise, my views on sensitive matters. That would be intrusive and disrespectful.

What I mean is that in a relationship of trust, if the subject naturally comes up, I would share my perspective respectfully, without imposing it. Just as you have the right to express your beliefs or lack of belief, I also have the right to express mine but always in a way that respects the other person's freedom.

So my point is not about warning or teaching strangers, but about honest dialogue when there's mutual openness within the right situation.

Hopefully that clears out the misunderstanding

Your assumption has no ground to hold on. I was raised as a Christian, i live on a Christian society with religion being a part of our every day lives. I had to "fight" my extended family about my child being raised in an atheistic environment and not get christened.
I read and i rejected the illogical nature of religion a long time ago.

I didn't say Ancient Greece but Greek philosophers. We are not talking about values being accepted by an entire population but ideas getting written down.

Dawkins is not a fanatic and if he is, so was Charlie Kirk. They both had talks and debates about religion from the opposite side.
Dawkins puts himself on 6 or 6.9 on his scale of theistic probability because he understands that expressing with a 100% certainty that there is no creator or the opposite, is scientifically wrong.

Atheism is no religion.
The fact that there are atheists that support pseudoscience doesn't make atheism a religion, neither does harm to the ideology. If it did then by inheritance the child molesters who are deeply rooted in Christian church should also be an argument against religion.
There are many men now and in the past who tried to bring the world down because of religion.

Einstein believed in Spinoza's god, which pretty much is nature. He didn't believe in any religious god.
But Einstein also didn't believe in several properties of quantum mechanics, one being the randomness which we now understand is fundamental. This is where he used the famous "God doesn't play dice".
Einstein, like every other human being in history can be wrong about topics. Including those who wrote the various religious books.

If you are using the appeal to authority tactic here, i have to say that from a study 10 years ago, only the 9% of scientists asked expressed a belief in god.
But no one is really an authority in religion, as no one saw God or experienced what is written in the books. It's all about blind faith or critical thinking.

The idea that I need religion to keep my mind in check is equally laughable to me. I won't argue there are weak minds out there though.

People can believe God created the universe. As our scientific knowledge expands and we get answers based on facts, their gods will move to the backstage, with the rest of the deities that has come and passed.

Can he be manipulated? For sure. Most people can. There are plenty of politicians and people in power, right here in the states willing to use him for that.

However, if you want Russian bots, don't look further than those who want to destroy Western society. THOSE are Russian assets, either paid or for free.

It's so funny (pathetic, actually) reading so many allegedly against Putin parroting Russian talk points. McCarthy was right all along. People who deny it are truly Russian agents and they dont even know.

from what I've seen over there the past two days I would be shocked if it's either of those people who have seemed to catch the eye of 4chan
 
I think Trump said the father persuaded him to turn himself in.

He's probably a danger to himself and to others. Just another mentally ill guy with a gun rather than a hitman hired by Resetera - Civil War postponed.
