I think alot of GAFers don't understand rhe religious and political overtunes Beth's deatg meant. She was martyr for realizing that Noah will never be free of Dawn's grasp and realized rhe only to end Dawn's reign of terror was to sacrifice herself for it. Also by killing her, and rhe cops not reacting, means rhey're happy she's gone and maybe more of a democracy now.

After the exchange, Dawn insisted that Everyone Hates Chris had to come back to the hospital as well, since Beth had taken his place and now she was leaving. Chris said okay, Beth hugs him, then stares down Dawn. She says "I get it now" and stabs her with the pair of scissors she had hidden in her mattress. Dawn instinctively (or accidentally) shoots her in the face. She is then gunned down in turn by Daryl.
