What? None of these people looked alike and none of them looked like Kevin Durand.

Were they wearing identical clothes too?

Since nobody is bringing it up.

There was recent news that Kevin Durand was approached to play a mayor role in the series. Now, in the premiere the guy that was beat up by Tyrone looks extremely like Kevin Durand (can't be a lookalike right?). Also at the ending part (THEN - flashback scene) some guy that sounds and looks like Kevin Durand is putting these current leaders of Termine in a traincar(?). It seems to me he is banished (since that scene was a flashback) and Tyrone found him and in the end, didn't kill him (we never saw him die). Also, the 2 roles haven't been listed in the credits. Please help me out here.

Premier was alright. I mean I have lost interest in this show. Its not moving anywhere. What is the goal beside survive?

Ahh thank God this show is back, in full form. I was so antsy for the return of Walking Dead that I tried watching Gotham the past few weeks, but actually enjoyed it, so that's a 2nd show added to the small list of nothing that is currently on right now...Anyway, great episode of dead. If some of you guys are really that afraid the throat slitting, well its about time to you get a little desensitized, thanks for not cutting that scene FCC.

Lol, well played. I totally groaned at that moment but in general, a fantastic and satisfying episode. Really well done.. the slaughter bit was of course a little eyeroll-y about how they'd stop seconds before hitting Glenn, but that's okay, it's TV.

Survivorman am cry

How are there multiple people in that thread saying "yup, identical clothes" when they're clearly not identical in any way whatsoever? Are people really this good at fooling themselves into believing things?

Its an homage still, imo. Those details stack up. Could be a costume/set designers joke they threw in thinking people would eventually notice.

That is one good premiere. Good way to start.

And my god Carol the Beast. Tyreese stood there quivering like a little bitch and Carol is all like "shit son, I got this" and goes all rambo on Terminus. How many people does it take to take out a crazy cannibal community? One fucking Carol. Seriously, the fireworks scene was a bit wonky, but we got fire zombies. So all is good. Daryl going all teary eyed when they meet up is a big daaaaaw moment.

Rick was on Fire as well. And oh my god Morgan!

Hope the second episode will just as good. .. ... .... eh who am I kidding.

Great episode. But holy shit I have to look away at so much of the violence. The throat slitting especially.

That zombie eating the guys nose was disgusting, I guess I'm not used to zombies eating someone's face since it's normally the throat or arms they go for.

How can it be if she was burried at the prison? Seems like homage, but since they burried her (iirc) then it can't be. I do agree it was odd that they decided to make the zombie look JUST like her, cuffs on and all.

The inner shirt and the way they're layered and buttoned are similar. Strangely enough, the belt is what stood out most to me. I'd have to review the episode but she may have been barefoot too.

There are a few possibilities

1) It's Andrea. She screwed up her suicide and was dead long enough to be buried. She reanimated underground and dug herself up after the prison fell. After eating the Governor she shambled with the herd towards Terminus. The clothes can be explained by decomposition and weathering.

2) She shot herself but zombies are now immune to certain brain trauma. It's a casual tease like the flu zombies from S4's premiere.

3) The writers are playing wacky with the timeline
and it's Beth, who turned out to also be handcuffed.

4) It's an homage. Except it's a literal homage.

5) I like Andrea and I want her to come back Bobby Ewing-style. Rick hasn't been sleeping well AT ALL.

6) There's perhaps a subtle nod to the comics Andrea and TV Carol assuming her role by killing her.

So yes, it's Andrea. Case closed.

This episode is somewhat of a disturbing milestone

- a lot of stuff happened....
...yet it wasnt a very good episode.

Because the thing is, most of the bad episodes are caused by the "nothing happens" disease
And yet a lot of stuff happens in this episode but it wasnt as good as granade on the tank, or arriving to terminus

People getting their fleshed bitten off has always been hard. But throat slitting or anything to do with eyes I just cannot watch in movies/tv. Like a lot of the closeups of them clearing the fence at the prison. Ugh..

Well that was an awesome episode, absolutely loved it.

I am referring to the guy in the room with Tyrese. Look closely. And I am referring to the guy I just told you about in the ending scene where he moved the leaders in the traincar. It's in my post. The ending was labelled as "Then", so it seemed like a flashback. It's him, but just uncredited.

...no.

The guy with Tyrese was played by Chris Coy, a completely different guy.

Owen Harn played the guy at the end who was in charge of the rapists and was also the crazy guy in the crate that Rick, Glenn, Daryl, and Bob rescued and then watched die.

Kevin Durand might show up later, and I would love it, but he certainly has not been in it thus far.

Awesome premier. I'm glad they didn't drag out the Terminus stuff all season. Carol has come such a long way and I think I squealed like a schoolgirl when Morgan appeared.

Thought it was mostly a great episode. Carol is the real apocalypse. I got some Big Boss MGS vibes from her as she infiltrated in.

Tyreese took a bit of a step backwards by applying old world ethics, and I'm not sure that he really killed the guy in the end.

Morgan returning was very unexpected (for me). Did Rick really leave all those tree markings? It seems like a miracle that Morgan would find them all.

I haven't seen anyone mention this, but can someone clearly explain what the "cure" was as described by the science/DC guy? My wife and I were confused by his answer ...

The only thing I could come up with after hearing his explanation was that he was going to create other mutants or some mutant gene to fight zombies? Is that correct? So what exactly is the "cure" or answer? Loved the premiere, but that explanation was odd ...

(I don't watch Talking Dead, so not sure if it was mentioned there) ...

The best I got out of it was he plans to create another virus to fight the zombie virus. I dunno, I think the guy is full of it and is giving them false hope.

I just realized the woman in Terminus was Tasha Yar from Star Trek: TNG. I didn't recognize her at all.

Why the fuck did the Terminus lady tell Carol her entire life story? She literally just met her, and by "met her" I mean she had the drop on an armed assailant. That was beyond James Bond villainy.

Overall though, I highly enjoyed the premiere. Badassness all around!

I can live with that ... just thought it was something that nobody was really talking about yet has become a semi-major plot line now ... we get an answer in this episode and it makes no sense ... just making sure I wasn't alone there ...

What the fuck? Taking the prison was something nobody on that group would have even attempted, and even though things went to shit, they lived there relatively safe for some months.
He's had his moments I suppose. And I'm not really saying anyone else would have been a better leader (at least at the point on the show you reference.)

It's been a while since I watched those earlier episodes, and its based on TV impressions as I'm not familiar with the source material and whether he differs in that. But he tends to veer relatively violently back and forth in persona. He wants to be the autocratic leader at times, and at others he wants to just farm and not take any responsibility, and at times he wants it both ways. When he is assuming the role of unilateral leader, he tends to be indecisive, waiting until the very last moment to make a decision, or worse waiting until after the indecision has led to calamity already. And then when he does make a decision he'll often change his mind about it. His moral compass also tends to spin around enough to create a refreshing breeze between actions based on the world they now live in and actions based on what he still wants the world to be.

(I don't really care enough to get into a big debate about his merits, these are just my impressions of him).

I sort of agree, still enjoy the whole survival genre

but i feel the pilot had alot of overly unnecessary violent scenes -
pan to the girl getting her face eaten off / which didn't look all that impressive, more like a fountain of blood just pouring down her face while the zombie moves his mouth up and down.....
