Great finale. Great season.

No doubt one of the best TV shows airing right now. Also, when do I get to start complaining about he lack of Hispanic characters? Next season?

Aaron left his backpack full of photos and information about Alexandria when they had to bail out from the warehouse. You can clearly see them rummaging through its contents near the end, so it's all but assured that the Wolves will come crashing. I don't think they knew about Alexandria before that, though.

Yeah, there's most likely a map in there leading directly to Alexandria.

This was a great episode. Maybe the best so far.

I find it weird being attracted to Carol. She's nuts and bout it as fuck. If the outbreak is ever cured she needs to form a Piru set.

Noah's community had deep tire tracks around the crashed in-back wall. I think we can assume that the Wolves dump walkers into a community to cause chaos

I'd forgotten about that.

So there must be far more Wolves than we've seen. I doubt two guys could cause that much havoc.

They don't seem well armed for all their scavenging: chatty Wolf's gun either jammed or was completely empty.

What did they say to the red poncho guy just before killing him?

Red Poncho: Please don't.
Wolf: Shh...
Red Poncho: No...
Wolf: They'll hear you. It'll take longer to reset it. Just be still. Just be still.

This episode was a major let-down for me.

I knew they wouldn't dare killing Glenn but come on now. That dude was done for. He had a serious injury to his shoulder and a horde of walkers just came swarming in to feast on him, but somehow he still managed to survive (mind you, we don't know how since it was conveniently done off screen). And then he caught up to that other bad guy and ALMOST killed him but we all knew he wouldn't do that either.

Same goes for Sasha. Her storyline hasn't been interesting but I was hoping she would help us get rid of Father Gabriel who is just straight up annoying. But once again no, she wouldn't pull the trigger.

They did get rid of Pete, aka the only doctor around (and I think they had every right to, with how out of control he was getting), but that's okay because Tara conveniently just woke up a few moments before that.

Daryl and Aaron were bound to survive to, because that's how things work on this show. I'm actually glad those two made it because I really like them together.

I know I made a lot of complaints in that post, and I gotta say I'll still watch season 6 just to see where the show is going, but man, does it suck sometimes.

I just realized this isn't the first time Michonne's sword has taken an innocent life...oh fuck...

Also, Morgan's surprise bo fighting maybe the most comic book thing since Michonne's introduction.

That makes a lot of sense - feel dumb for not putting the 2 and 2 together.

The Governor also used Walkers offensively, dumping them into the prison worked well.

Gabriel should become a bad-ass priest like this guy:

and use the same gun too ;) if he doesn't, he won't survive much longer!

Glen shouldn't have been buried under 3 walkers, it was just too much, his survival looks more like a miracle than anything else...

Damn, Carol is getting a little extreme. I guess she couldn't expect that the hubby would get murdered right away, but still..

Also Morgan couldn't have come at a more awkward moment.

What did he tell Aaron and Daryl again? Something like "Every life is precious"? lol

Glen shouldn't have been buried under 3 walkers, it was just too much, his survival looks more like a miracle than anything else...
True, that was kinda over the top. I guess he somehow got the gun, but considering how he just has to be bitten once it's more than a miracle.

Here's Gimple's note on Season 6 from Talking Dead
"For a good while now, humans have been the bigger threat. At the start of our next season, that will change. I said the show reinvents itself every 8 eps, and we’re doing it again, friendos. Now that these characters know they have what it takes to survive, what are they going to do with that power? How will they choose to live? Beyond answering those questions, we’re currently putting into motion some of our most ambitious stuff yet, and things are going to get very big, loud and scary.”

gabriel should be fucking shamed by everyone. that's what needs to fucking happen to him. fucking mothafucker.

same with nicholas.

Also Morgan couldn't have come at a more awkward moment.

Yeah I felt the same, like that perfect timing in soap operas when a man gets kissed goodbye by a woman and his wife miraculously catches it walking around the corner of a street and thinks he cheated on her!!1

Why didn't they do something like that: we see Morgan and the two other guys from behind walking to the place where the towns folks were gathered. We can just barely see Rick from afar in the light.
Cut over to the meeting, old dude gets slashed, screaming, show all them faces in shock, "do it Rick!!1".
Cut over to Morgan who is now running to the scene and when he gets there Rick pulls the trigger on the dude lying on the ground.

We would've maybe lost Rick's bad-ass immediate compliance to Diane's wish, but at least the "just in time to see it moment" would be less eye-roll inducing IMHO.

It's just little things like that that keep piling on, that annoy me, but I still like the series though, slashing zombies didn't get old yet and I like a bunch of these folks ;)

yeah considering what he's done, he should be dead already, but he isn't, so make the best out of it ;)

we talkin about nicholas or gabriel? lol

both, I guess ;) Gabriel let his flock die outside of the church and left the door open in Alexandria, Nicholas just casually wants to kill Glenn, why exactly? If Glenn wanted to kill him after the glass door incident, he would've been dead already.

gabriel already cried about it way back during the hunters arc. if that's still something that he's using as a reason to view rick's group as the devil then he's still the dirt beneath our feet.

and we haven't seen the realization of nicholas being the one who stole rick's gun. in fact the season ended with glenn and him still outside the walls. i want it to played out next season, soon.

^ for a second I though Carol had a longass arm in that pic but then I realized it was Sasha's.

What would you have preferred?
This has happened before on this show.
There is a huge buildup, we are all waiting for real shit to go down, like Rick's group taking over Alexandria, killing many of them like they should have done. That would have saved the bosse's husband.

After dropping out during season 4, season 5 pulled me back in and I was largely happy with the season.

Really like the change of pace since they arrived in Alexandria, really interested to see where we are in a seasons time.

What? You think Rick's group should have killed "many of them"? Why? That makes no sense.

That's the kind of finale you wanted?

The build-up was leading to a shift in leadership, not a massacre/take over. Deanna telling Rick to kill Pete was a clear indication that, at least IMO, she realized he was right and that her idealistic way of survival can't work

Man, Carol sure is cray cray, and I'm loving every moment of it. Her manipulating Rick into kickstarting his Ricktatorshio is genius. That last scene genuinely gave me chills, with how calm and collected she was during the entire incident, as if she KNEW what was going to happen, what had to be done, and how Rick will react. Melissa McBride has shone through this season, for sure.

I really don't see any of what she did as manipulating Rick. She just told him what he already knew. He was the one to say they would take the place if they needed, I don't recall her planting that seed. Did she give him a nudge when it came to dealing with Pete? Yes. Otherwise her and Rick are by and large on the same page.

Sorry, you're only allowed to complain about the "obvious" black character quota on this show. /Kappa

What is Tara? Thought she was Latino, and not sure what Abe's girl is.
Not sure about Tara but Alanna Masterson, her actress, is American, according to her Wikipedia page. (and a scientologist, wat). I could have sworn she was Latino too, but I guess not.

Rosita is Hispanic.

Don't get this. The last 2 have been the best eps yet. Dude, just stop watching.
Yeah, I thought the season picked really up towards the end. The only thing I thought was a bit disappointing is that the "wolves" were overall just teased for the next season.

That does sound better then what they went with. But I also have no problem disregarding issues like that. It's in the end not really the reason I watch the show. With shows that strive to be bigger, like Game of Thrones or House of Cards it would bother me more.

Andrew Lincoln's take on the final scenes of the finale:

EW said:
What we did, we were shooting and it was minus three, and of course I’m wrestling with Jake— who’s my go-to zombie wrestle partner, and he works for KNB and does all the makeup—and of course we have the fight. The rest of the crew is in four layers of gortex, and I’m just there waiting for a bucket of blood to fall on my face. That’s my life, Dalton. This is the job. It’s almost like a joke job. They go, “Okay Andy, this is the final episode. Thanks for all your hard work. We’re gonna dump a gallon of cold blood on your face and then you have to do a massive soliloquy and then shoot the man. There you go. And then you can go home.” But I just love it. After the fight and the scene in the street and the blood and getting messed up, getting the tie loosened and getting back into my jacket again and then having a sort of battle with the zombie was amazing.

lmao

What did Pete mean when he was yelling, "This is him", while on the ground before Rick killed him?

Right... kill a bunch of them...
When you realize some people feel like bloodshed, main characters dying, and big fights are the only way to raise the stakes or for it not to be a boring show, then it's clear why some think the show sucks.
