I found Jim's death more poignant than Tyrese's. The character's just seem like caricatures at this point that it makes them difficult to relate to or care about in any way.

Two last death were just dumb. I am not a fan of the direction the show is taking. The gratuitous, dull emotional tone is taking to much space on the episodes. Emotion is fine, but I remember the tension and stress I felt during the first two seasons: the unknow world ahead of them, the survival, more likable characters and more difficult moral choices. The show is wandering too much, it needs more focus. We need a new location, new objectives, a new big event in which they can evolve, interact.
Rick, Daryl and Carol are getting stonger and very interesting, the other are just on the screen to discharge their boring former life and cry. The Talking Dead, really.

I didn't think Tyrese was a bad character, but the fact that he was named Tyrese was bad. He was nothing like the comic Tyrese. They should have just named him something else.

I'm just upset that he was a simp to the absolute end. That was not a death deserving of him. T-Dog and Bob got better.

And yeah, both of the last two deaths were just "lets kill some guys." Disappointed.

We need more Rick and Glenn solo moments. It was fun seeing the two of them interact together this week. They have both changed a bunch since season one.

I miss pre-Maggie Glenn. She should get killed off next. Comic Spoilers:
With a baseball bat.

Yeah season 1 glen and rick team up moments were awesome

Does anyone know what number in the Walking Dead comics the show is at right now? I'd rather continue from there as the show is doing nothing for me anymore.

I stopped comics at 101 because it was just killing off for the sake of killing off and the same cycles over and over.
It just became tedious.

Didn't have service last night came here to say my son fell asleep and woke up asking what happen ? I told him and he said who cares all tyreese did was cry !!! Damn you wd writers you did this !!!

Seems like it's about that time to thin the herd as they move towards Washington. I'm expecting at least one more death soon.

Unsurprised by Tyrese's death, though I liked the little story line they created for him in his final episode. It kind of works with his character, even if a good chunk of it was shoehorned in just for this episode.

I still don't understand how the execs can be like "Yes, that is acceptable CGI work" for one of the most popular shows on TV. It's almost Terra Nova level bad at this point.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
I was going to agree with you but reading this http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/the-walking-dead-tyreese-death-chad-coleman-interview-1201428453/ it seems it was the showrunners decision and not Chad Coleman's.

So now I'm back to being annoyed at Tyreese being killed off for a mid-season premiere shock value.

WOW, they totally dicked over Beth's actor:

When did you find out this would be the end for Tyreese?
I found out three episodes prior, which I was grateful for. A lot of (cast and crew members) wanted to express some wonderful sentiments to me about my demise, so I was able to get a lot of that out of the way. I don’t mean that in a callous way. Honestly I was just happy to be able to focus fully on the work once we got to that point.

Beth's actor basically found out literally the script of. Like "hey we're shooting these scenes with you for the episode and then next episode you're going to die. Sorry."

cus AMC are greedy and only give a rather low budget for every TWD season

I assumed shared bathroom

That's what it looked like to me too. Bathroom with many doors (my house has one).
The main hallway door was shut/locked, but the door between bedroom and bath was open

So were those pictures of Noah and his brother? Why did the brother look so much younger as a walker, but the same age in the pictures?

So I wonder if we are going to get 7 episodes of them trying to get 100 miles and the finale will be them arriving in Washington… Damn I hope not..

Not a bad episode though, hated to see Ty die but at least it wasn’t a really slow episode like some in the first half of the season.

So I wonder if Beth had a rider in her contract that she got to sing x number of songs, and they didn’t cover it before they killed her off.

I really don't understand people who are saying tyreeses death is pointless. It serves the purpose to show that walkers are and will always be a threat in this world and people slipping up will get them killed. Rick and the gang seemed to be so focused on that people are the real threat and no one can be trusted but walkers are still out there and will get anyone at any time if they aren't careful. His death is emphasizing the fact that the group really needs to find some place safe or they will all die one by one out in the wild.

And when you really get down to it this whole show is pointless because there is no hope, there is no cure, everyone will eventually die. It's a show about survival so people should get used to characters just getting killed off all of a sudden like Tyreese because in a world like this anyone can go at anytime and that's how it should be.

Noah had younger bothers that were twins. There was one picture with all three of them and it showed Noah being older/bigger.

In the episode, one was dead in bed the other was the one who bit Tyreese.

This. But some people are forgetting that this is a show about zombies. That kill you. At any time.

People always bitch when someone dies. They expect everyone to be a super rambo robot and never get a scratch even the whole world has gone to shit and the dead are fucking walking around and wanting to kill you.

I don't understand how people think this episode was pointless. Like it is clear as day why they did what they did. Could they have maybe moved the plot along after the event happened? Sure. But it would have been lame as hell if they show Tyrese being bit, him dying, and that be it. This episode was awesome. Personally this wouldn't have been my choice for an episode after a 2 month break, but in a vacuum this was a nice episode just like "Clear" was.

after beth, we get yet another stupid and random death. not just that, this episode was also boring, very very boring. this season is going to shit very quickly, never change TWD.

also I'm pretty sure that they knew and already said that once you're bitten you're fucked, so I didn't really see the point of cutting his arm off.

It worked for Hershel

If you can cut the infected limb off before things spread you could potentially be okay as shown with Hershel. The problem with Tyreese is that he very likely lost to much blood. Hershel's leg was cut off and treated right away. Then there is also the chance the virus that causes death after the bit might have spread to far as well.

Whenever I see comments about an episode being "boring" I keep wondering if people have forgotten what genre this show is in. It has action but it's actually a drama. That character interaction and even focus on single characters is part of the show and a large part of why it's continue to grow in popularity. It's a character drama with burst of extreme violence and horror. I agree with those that say the episode was trying to show that they've been on a the road for to long. It's getting to them. Also I think the show wanted to show that it's not just the humans you have to fear. The show has focused on that threat for a long time now and I think people forget that there are hordes of undead and they can show up at the most random times and people can and should be dying at any time.

Because like everything else, he sat there in a stupor in la la land instead of getting help.
He got bit.
Herschel was more active after getting bit but no, not Tyrese.
Just like he got beat staring at a damned picture and getting all emo boo hoo and zoning out he sat there bleeding out.
It wasn't his leg that got bit, or even injured it was his arm.

if you cut it right away, sure, it might work, but the situation for tyreese there was hopeless way before they even arrived to him.

Hershel was on the ground, screaming and when he called for help the entire group was right around the corner came to his help almost immediately. He was then carried out to have his left hacked off. Not sure how one is suppose to react when they have a chuck of their arm ripped out and are gushing blood. I agree he could have moved but as we saw with Noah he could have been attacked again. However drama determines a character is suppose to act and this is a drama show.

Horrible episode. From start to finish

For me and my wife right now the best part is to point out how terrible the show became

My fear is that it will kill zombie movies - and the chance of a good zombie movie - for the next one or two decades

It seems like no matter what they do people will always complain. If the show is too slow people say speed it up. If it's too fast it needs to slow down. When a character is on the show for more than a season they need to be killed. If that character gets killed it's dumb. Tyrese served his purpose, it was his time as there wasn't really much more for him to prove. Granted he was a great character, and I'll miss seeing Chad on the show. But this has to happen to keep the show moving. There are complaints about how he died. While I do understand them people have to look at it from the perspective of what kind of character Tyrese was. An emotional caring man who was bothered by what was happening. When he saw Noah's brother in that picture it upset and distracted him, and made him careless. Sometimes those small things are all it takes, not just in a zombie apocalypse, but in every day life. Sorry for the long post I just had to say that.

Tyreese is a dumbass. Oh, let's zone out on some pictures, nevermind clearing the zombie house. And oh, I'm bit - time to have a spirit walk, nevermind amputating the infected arm.

I dont care that TWD is willing to kill off main characters, but can the show please stop turning characters into complete morons right before their demise? Beth and Tyreese deserved better, dammit.
