Glad to see that Rick and the gang are finally getting ready to fight back.

Despite what Negan's done to them, for some reason I don't find the Saviors all that intimidating. Maybe it's just because I expect Rick and co. to overcome the odds like they always do, with a few casualties along the way, and I'm just waiting for them to get to that point.

It doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan.
I know TWD always goes for a grainy recording, but did anybody else notice this being heavily exaggerated on this episode? It was only on certain areas of the screen, but it almost looked like static it was that bad. I thought it was something wrong with the downloading on my Sky box, but it never showed up during the Fox-theme intro, breaks and outro.

I think the time we spent inside the saviors compound kinda showed us that they are weak within. only behaving as animals being told what to do and how to do it. not a disciplined group with everyone on the same motive or goal. their way of life is being forced by a maniac.

Well...Trevor is on the same page, at least.

Is that really CG or did they just superimpose her image recorded from something else?

Edit: Nevermind, I see someone else said the same thing. Yeah CGI is not the same thing as superimposing / green screen, people!

How long are they going to push the "but there must be another way" narrative with Morgan? Holy shit..

Character development.. how does it work?

Enjoyed the latest episode. I really like it. Looking forward the next one.
How does a Walker like this... even exist? Some dude dressed up as a knight.... got killed.... and this is the result???

The walker reminds me of Iron Maiden from resident evil 4. lol

I feel like I'm always on the wrong side of history with this show. When I like it, everyone else hates it, and vice versa.

I had some issues with this episode - like timing (wow, it really took them a long time to figure out about fat Joey and Daryl's escape, huh?), but to me, that's little stuff. I like Ezekiel's performative aspect. I like the utter ridiculousness of the Kingdom, how the dudes were all WHO DARES - oh, hey, it's Jesus. People need entertainment and it's like living in a Medieval Times during the apocalypse. Things could be worse.

A friend raised the question of how they would survive, playing like that, as the show has shown us that people who don't accept don't last, but I think they balance acceptance and avoidance in a way that's ridiculous but that I can buy. Apocalypse is impossible to wrap your mind around. All this death, the horror, the abrupt change in every circumstance... so they play, but they also train, and hard.

Hilltop is the one I find less believable in that sense.

But really all this is just because I wanted a place to say that Gregory is so deliciously terrible. He's the best asshole. I hate him a lot but he always makes me laugh.

The only good/interesting characters on this show right now:

  • Neegan
  • Trevor guy
  • Gregory
I'm rooting for them! I don't really care about the main characters or their group anymore, blegh.

Finally a good pacing episode, got me hooked again.

Yeah, I enjoyed the episode as well. Hopefully they now release that keeping the group somewhat together actually works way better than splitting them up and spending one episode per 2-3 characters.

One thing that felt off was explosives expert Rosita. That felt like it came out of the blue.

I know the actress that plays Tara had a baby at some point. May be why they did that.

That was in like Nov 2015. Probably some scheduling issues.

I think between Daryl's escape and this episode it has probably been like only 2 days. One problem (?) with the show is that sometimes viewers might not notice or see that only days have passed even after a few episodes. This is happening more and more often in the past few seasons.

Gregory is the worst actor in the show by miles. He's absolutely awful haha. Even worse than Coral.

Trevor Guy and Morgan have yet to give a bad performance. Brilliant pair.

It sort of looked like the guy in the car with Gabriel popped up in the back seat. So I think Gabriel had a plan but meanwhile someone from the group at the end was spying, saw their moment and hid in the car. So Gabriel was then taken in by that group in some way

Edit: How did Negan know a horde would wander that particular way? Could that have not been set off by a lone walker?

is there a comic book equivalent of the group in black ? does gabriel know them ? that group looked huge but it didnt look like they had a lot of guns. i wonder when tara opens her mouth about the all female group and the obvious chekovs gun that is their armory

No. They've been created for the show. Likely to make up for the fact that the Hilltop is a smaller community in the show than it is in the comic. The usual suspects among spoiler sites have more info on the new group if you want to dig for it.

No this group isn't in the comics. And I don't think he does but who knows.

holy shit almost all of them are hilariously bad. Did any of them even watch Walking Dead and see how walkers behave?

It's as if they were told to go crazy with the overacting.

They probably were. That's not an audition for the show, it's an audition for the Walking Dead attraction at Universal Hollywood.

Probably true, but at least his character is like infinitely more interesting than any of the people in the core group. :p They're all just meh or straight up annoying, I don't really care about any of them anymore.

Anybody else want philosophy to slip back into the show?
If you mean arguing about killing other humans and the whole 'you kill you die' stuff then it's definitely comming and more than likely foreshadowed by the cell that Morgan built. (Although I'm beginning to wounder if the show runners forgot about that at this point)

They didn't forget about it. Rick and Michonne had their talk in the cell at the end of episode 8.

So did Morgan just pull an Andrea? If he wasn't staying to change Zeke's mind I feel like he should have rejoined the Squad.

So, I just discovered there was an after credits scene from the the mid seasons finale.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KayJcN2hL_8

Showeds, the same guy watching Aaron and Rick at the boat judging by the boots, watching Gabriel while standing guard at night.

So, seemingly, that would also be who got into the car with him last week.
