I guess we should have asked that when they did this for Yotei.

In any event maybe they could just not call these state of plays when they do deep dives. Maybe call them 'Playstation Deep Dive' or something and keep SoP the way it was before; combination of first and 3rd party announcements.

Hitman is great.

The biggest issue I had with the hitman games is a lack of incentive after going through a few sandboxes. The narrative push was just not there. All I want is hitman like gameplay with a bit more direction and cohesion. Throw in some action sequences, personality and cutscenes and it would be perfect. Looking forward to this one.

Lmao this has been an industry trend for years now. TLOU 2, Ghosts of Yotei, Helldivers 2, etc, etc. Who cares. They have another SOP coming up later.

I'm with you on that one. I'm pretty sure that if it was not part of a SoP there would be a lot less negativity. It's not like Sony can't have another online event before TGS. I think the game has potential and the developers have a good track record. What's there to hate about it?

The PS5 is basically a third party machine at this point. I mean they could have a regular State of Play, but not even sure they have a single unannounced Sony game to show.

Sony fumbled the bag pretty bad by letting ND do like 3 TLOU remasters that no one asked for and Insomniac and Guerrilla doing mid sequels.

We'll see how Yotei is but I don't have super high hopes.

Attempts at new IP have also been disastrous.

Helldivers 2 feels like their only real bright spot this gen tbh.
