I honestly wonder what some of y'all expected a James Bond game to look like.
Were you expecting Cyberpunk 2078 or something?
I was expecting it to not look like Fortnite starring Nathan Drake

This is going to be the next Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a (potentially) solid game underneath an unpleasant Gen Z ultra-Zoomer woke skin that people will just ignore because of how it looks

Man, 30 fps seem to be making a comeback. First Rockstar now these folks. Not counting the 60 fps mode in certain games running at 800p resolution.

I think it's time for me to build a rig. 5080 + 9800x3D. F everyone.

Looked good to me. I enjoyed some of the old Bond games and am glad to see his return. It had all the standard Bond stuff (as GudOlRub GudOlRub said). I'm not sure why people are saying he's "too young" - it's deliberately an origin story, so naturally he is young. It sounds like they are planning/hoping for a long series.

On a minor note, I was glad to see the "male gaze" preserved. Given the direction the Bond movies have taken lately, I was concerned that it might be PC and ditch the standard Bond-issue flirtations with attractive women. But no, they seem to be there.

The artstyle and character design are an abject failure.

Gameplay could still be good, but it completely miss on the James Bond looks and visual feel.

I honestly can't even begin to comprehend what you're on about. I'm legitimately confused, what on earth is woke about the trailer?
James Bond being a blue-eyed white dude? Or is it him throwing glances at ladies? :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I can understand people not liking the graphics very much, it doesn't seem to be a looker, it looks fine enough just like the Hitman games, I can also understand the people who find a young Bond strange since both the movies and previous games all had a middle-aged dude, other than that you're all just writing gibberish, we haven't seen nearly enough of the game to conclude the story or whatever is shit.

I dont know man... it kind of hit the marks but the indian Q set up the alarms.
Q isn't Indian, he's just very old, which is a bad choice imo.

30fps on base consoles? Hard fucking pass.

"First Light is coming to PS5 in 2026, and it will be enhanced for the PS5 Pro to run at 60fps."

This thing looks last gen as FUCK. It's certainly in part because of IOI and their engine, but that last scene in the car had crazy aliasing.

thicc_girls_are_teh_best thicc_girls_are_teh_best do you see it now?? Do you see what handheld development does to us? The Switch 2's influence is all over this.

Remember the last time IOI tried to do a more cinematic action orientated game?

Almost killed a franchise.

Zero confidence in this, even from a gameplay point of view.

Would've preferred more Max Payne and less Uncharted. Still, I buy every James Bond game.

First Light is an absolutely horrible name for this game and for the Bond franchise in general.

Looks like 4chan was right for once:

I had a bad feeling 4chan was right based on the character silhouette matching up with the actor's headshot:

I can easily see it being Patrick Gibson.
Not feeling it.

Yeah I would prefer an older experienced kick ass bond.. not some young dumb learning his traits Tom Holland... guess an older experienced james bond would be to much macho testosterone for modern devs.

Man yall a bunch of complainers. Always complaining about how games got ugly main characters, fat, women etc. Here we got a game with a good looking young fit white dude and you guys still complaining lmao.

What did they say?

Hilarious. Yeah, I dunno about this one.

I mean .. sign me the fuck up. If it has the kind of creativity in missions as the Hitman World of Assassination games .. that's gonna be fuckin' amazing.
This is why it's such an exciting prospect. They can actually fucking provide a variety of fun missions. Just what a Bond games needs most. I don't give a fuck if Bond's smirk is a stiff animation. I'll be too busy enjoying IOI's mission design (hopefully).

Hitman Absolution was always good. One of the most underrated games just because mainstream reviewers didn't like. Play it. If it came out this year it would be in the running for GOTY.

I want to see the gadgets, vehicles and persuasion in action, this is what will set this game apart from others in gameplay.

I was really expecting James Bond skin on a Hitman graphics and gameplay with scripted single player missions.

The direction they chose now has me 100%. It looks good, trailer was edited really well, gameplay is IOI bread & butter, liked the narrative direction and NPC talk.
Not AAA-photorealism might be good for sustainability of developers now, I am vibing hard with this Nathan Drake looking fucker as a young rookie.

Single player campaign obviously feels is the focus but in Hitman style will have lots of post release content. Day One !!

As mentioned here a few times over the years, Bond is my #1 franchise ever. I am a book reader (if you have never read Fleming Novels - do yourself a favor and take the dive), movie watcher, a lot of my wardrobe is the same items Bond has worn - I even have Parker Jotter pens and multiple watches that coincide purely because of my love of the style and character.

This trailer was really void of any depth to judge whether the game will be good. Naturally, in a cinematic premier trailer, it will be chock full of ridiculous action.

I am curious to see the actual gameplay. Do we know for a fact it will be something new Friday? I know at the end of the trailer it just said "this summer" for something new.

I am pretty neutral so far on this. I can see it going either way. Bond isn't as young as some people reacted, however I am also entirely unsure if the actor they chose has the charisma and edge to pull it off properly. To be fair, I think this is a real issue with actors in the generation and the next Bond movie star search - most 30-somethings of today's privileged lifestyle lack the edge / vein of grit needed to compliment the worldly charisma.

My other concerns of the game I will hold tongue on, but I do worry there is going to be too much modernity. A period piece would have been fantastic, but oh well.

Just my .02

Im really liking this art direction too. It has this GTA key art look to it. 100% getting this game day 1!!!

It checks the boxes and yet I'm looking at this feeling like something visually or tonally just isn't *hitting* and I'm a huge bond fan.

It's just so weird because the most recent hitman trilogy was a fantastic return to form, I was feeling good about this being in ioi's hands but after seeing it I just feel meh.

Part of me was wishes this was set in the 70s or something instead of modern.

All that said, could still be a fun game.

Gameplay looks cool but his face...!? How? Why? And the voice is super annoying. But whatever, could absolutely be a fun game!

Not very Bond-ish... Tho...

I think the gameplay looks good. Need to see more to determine if that means I'll buy it. Probably not at $70 or higher if that's what they're aiming for.

As a lifelong Hitman fan, this game looks like it could be amazing.

But I'm not a fan of the Bond character design tbh

Not sure about the character design, but it looks decent. I have full confidence the missions and stealth will be outstanding.
