The Rock wants to bring back the Attitude Era if he came back!

Former WWE champion "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson says he wants to return to WWE for a guest-hosting role or to wrestle a match only if he can "rip up" the writing for the current TV product and tap into the Attitude era with an edgier product.

Johnson shed light on what he's meant the past few months when he has said he wants to create something special beyond just guest-hosting one episode of RAW during an interview with Live Audio Wrestling.

"I want to use the platform as a host to literally rip things open. There's so much stuff we can do," Johnson told John Pollock of LAW. "We're going to create an incredible show, an incredible Raw. I'm doing another movie, but after that, we're going to create something special, unique, something badass for the fans. Talking to Vince (McMahon), whenever that's going to be, we're going to have a great time."

Johnson echoed what he said on ESPN last week that he wouldn't rule out wrestling, but only if he can turn the writing upside down and create a compelling storyline leading to a match.

"I accomplished everything I wanted to accomplish in wrestling, so I wouldn't rule out going back," Johnson said. "If the match was right and we could create something really unique and cool for the fans and for my opponent and for the company, I would do it in a second."

Johnson also said he has no interest in wrestling John Cena, but he talked about what it would take for him to work a program with Cena. The two quotes below capture in-depth Johnson's mentality on working with WWE again.

"I've never been interested in wrestling John Cena. The guys I wrestled in the past - from Goldberg to Hogan to Austin - were guys who I've really wanted to wrestle. If it can be done creatively but not only that, it's very important if I do back is that the writing has to be ripped open and really be pushed," Johnson said. "I came from a time in the Attitude era where we trail-blazed a lot and were fearless in the things we said and did."

Johnson added: "There are a lot of restrictions now on the product, which by the way, I understand, and I enjoy some of the stuff I see and I know some of the writers and they're challenged every week, but if in fact I do go back, it would be an interesting collision of an Attitude time that I loved and the time now, but I'm sure we can always infuse things to make it work."

And is Brett going to be on Raw tonight? If he isn't, they're going to lose momentum waiting until after RR to start something. They're stalling for no reason.

Please come back and do the same tired catchphrases you did 10 years ago, then have your yawnfest matches.

Yep those Wrestlemania main events were real boring unlike the awesome ones we have now. :lol

But seriously the Rock should stick to being a guest host as he would either make the "superstars" we have now look dull, or anyone he puts over will be crushed by the Game.

The Rock should come back.

Unless he plans on making The Rundown 2, because the rest of his movies have been shit. Either campy shit or just plain stinky shit.

I'm no TNA fan but I'm familiar with the product since 2004 (back when they were on Fox Sports). They have been known for having some good talent that the WWE passed on like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles, the latter would've been awesome in the WWE. Sure they've had some guys they built up who weren't much like Ron Killings and possibly Monty Brown (POOUUUUNCEE!), but they always had been one of those organizations with potential...
Both Joe and AJ were offered deals in the WWE and they turned them down

Yeah, a RR return for Edge is pretty much a given, but I don't want pussy, good guy Edge. His best work(aside from the Vickie Guerrero shit) has always been as a heel.

I don't expect Bret to be on Raw until next week, and happy for that.

I don't know if you folks look at the timeframe, but there is still 2 months of TV before Mania, and if there is ONE thing the WWE has proven time and time again, given too much time, they will screw the pooch. The angle between Bret/Vince is rather limited to begin with since neither is a full time wrestler at the moment, so there aren't many physical altercations that can happen.

The Vince banning him thing was a poor promo, but decent angle, I see Vince calling him out or whatever this week and him returning next week, and them announcing the match shortly after No Way Out.

Is it weird that I still hope one day AJ and Joe find their way into WWE? I realize TNA is their breeding ground and without that, they'd have gone to WWE being generic Samoan Wrestler 84324 and Southern Jobber 35345 but.. I really want them in WWE.

That's not weird, but considering AJ is about Evan Bourne's size and Joe is a "fat" I doubt they'd get any sort of push.

I find that to be the saddest thing about TNA. The whole time I am watching it, I am thinking how sweet it would be for Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, The Pope (i know, i know he was already there), Awesome Kong to be in WWE.

In both case MULTIPLE times.

Every time AJ even has a rumor that his contract is coming up, Vince is blowing up his phone.

He may not be the greatest on the mic, but his in-ring abilities are amazing. He does a lot of stuff that guys his size (he's a little bigger and bulkier than you'd think) really can't do. He's got such amazing body control and is just AWESOME to see live.

TNA and WWE got into a bidding war for both CM Punk and Joe.

WTF? Who was Pope in WWE? And did they even give him a chance on the mic? He won me over a few weeks ago with that funny promo. PEACE.

He was Elijah Burke in WWE, I remember him fueding with Punk in ECW for a while, but I don't ever remember him being as charismatic or interesting on the mic as he is as Pope, so i'm guessing he wasn't given much of a chance to express his character.

I had no idea either until I mentioned to a friend after the Monday Night TNA that The Pope was awesome. No idea what happened there for him to be let go, he prob should have started working out with HHH.

Looks like jecclr2003's avatar has been rescaled automatically and seems to be 1px too high for the current rules. Some mod could take your avatar privilege if you don't fix it

For some strange reason I noticed that extra 1px by just looking at the avatar, and just checked the properties to confirm. My crap superpower is to notice large avatars... I am a freak.

Yeah, he was around during one of the most interesting times of ECW I thought. He was the leader of a bunch of new ECW wrestlers and they were going against the old ECW vets, it was pretty good, shame he got let go, but I like him as the The Pope alot.

So I just sat down with a pack of Spring Onion flavour Cheddars and a can of Diet Coke and I've got DX on my screen saying the same old shit as ever.

I heard that one of the Psych guys isn't there tonight because he had to get his appendix out.
Well, Michael Cole just announced that they had breaking news about tonight's guest host, so I presume that what you heard is true.

keep your strippers out of my American football
Cole is such a dumbass. King points the HHH punch might have been for HBK, and Cole just totally dismisses the point. There was a reason that it was put in the match, asshole!!!!!

TNA would be a hot alternative to WWE if they had two things

a) WWE's creative machine
b) brand awareness

And WWE's creative direction is currently bull crap, but at least it somewhat makes sense and its not downright horrible like TNA is. So many young talent who can be superstars... wasted... /sigh

MVP is a much better heel than face. He was awesome when he was being booked well in Smackdown. Then he upset backstage people by making fun of the people administering the drug tests...

Basically, if you are an up and coming wrestler going to WWE you don't want to end up in RAW...
