I agree although there are a few gems on the others...

Adolescents on If not now, when?

Dig on Light Grenades

Rogues on Light Grenades

Cool, I'll check them out. I don't think I've actually heard much from If not now, when. I sort of forgot about it, I guess.

Oh, and to contribute to the topic. JNCO:

(went through the topic and didn't see them)

I never had any but remember wanting them.

Grunge, quintessential 90's.

Miss it. Not the watered down shit that came in post-grunge, though I like some of it, I prefer the raw unfiltered sound when it was pure.

Yup. With a few exceptions, mainstream music has been in free fall since around the time Cobain died.

I was born in '78, so my high school and college years were during the 90s. Politically, I think I remember the decade most of all for its boom times, when the worst that most in the USA had to worry about was a presidential cigar going into naughty bits. The Democratic '92 and Republican '96 primary races were really, really entertaining, as was SNL during those political seasons.

Re: TV

Here are the three TV shows that utterly dominated the decade for me. I left for college in '96, and watched very little TV from '96 through '00, so it kinda makes sense that I remember the first half's TV offerings more.

From 88 to 99.. such greatness!

And another "started-in-the-late-80s/bulk-of-it-was-in-the-90s" offering that was ahead of its time..

If you haven't seen the "Saturday Night Live: The Best of Phil Hartman" video, do yourself a favor and do so ASAP. His presence on the show from '86 through '94 guaranteed that it was worth tuning in during those years.

You guys remember WWF toys along with the ring?
My friend had a huge roster of characters. He had all the WWF toys and I had all the Ninja Turtles toys. He also had those zbots and a pacman arcade in his house. Love those days!
Plus we use to rent Howard the Duck, Best of the Best, and Garbage Pail Kids. He was my best friend *sniff.

For mine, far simpler times. Pre 9/11 is sometimes hard to remember but damn the 90's was an awesome time for me starting and ending my teenage years...
