Did I miss Nirvana in the OP? Kind of weird to talk about the 90s music without mentioning them. Seems the music there was only late-90s but the early 90s were defined by alternative and grunge movements (not giving an opinion on 'em, but they were pretty damn significant).

I like certain pieces of hardware from the 90s (consoles), and I liked the birth of gangsta rap music.... but so much of the fetishism is just the result of children liking whatever corporate shit had been trotted in front of them at an impressionable age. 80s coulda been cool too but being born in 81 I remember the tail end of the mid to late 80s, but was a kid/teen for the 90s


aside from a more social internet I think the 00s sucked
