I am desperate to see Of Gods and Men. Everything I hear about it sounds fantastic. Unfortunately it's playing nowhere near me.

Bizarrely, Secret Sunshine just got a limited release in the US three years after it came out overseas. If you happen to be in NY or LA (presumably the only places it opened) and are a fan of Korean dramas, you can't do a lot better than this one.

Also, Blue Valentine was pushed up 2 days (Dec. 29th ltd) and Biutiful was pushed to January 2011. [story]

and what the fuck is happening with The Way Back? It's so sad. I'm even in contact with the NYC publicist and they had one screening, but that's it. Haven't heard of any release plans.

I heard the 29th for LA, and then wide (or at least, less limited) in late January. Is that not true anymore?

I think it's opening limited towards the end of January.

It must be just a single theater, shame :/

I find it very, very, very hard to believe New Market will push it "wide" in January.

Just saw the Blue Valentine trailer.

:O

I've successfully avoided it, can't wait to see it!

I posted a new clip and pics today.

you actually recommend Somewhere? :lol your credibility has officially decreased (for me.)

Roger Ebert gave the movie four stars, so he's not the only one

(Ebert's not a great critic these days, by the by, so I'm not using that as a defense of the film, merely suggesting the Plainview is not so aberrant)

I wouldn't mind them skipping A Horse and His Boy and Silver Chair. Magician's Nephew would be my most wanted as well, but I would love to see a CGI team try to tackle the ending of The Last Battle.
I dunno how they'll spin THAT ending.

What's not be interested in? She directed one of the best films of the last decade and its very much a return to form. I've seen it and it was good, but not great.

If you are watching black swan for sex scene do not bother it was over hyped.

:lol

I would have LOVED to sat next to you in the theater for that. Expecting it to be extremely sexy, then see your sadness.

p.s. I'm glad Aronofsky handled it the way he did. What did you expect?

I watched Somewhere and was pretty disappointed.
The script for this page must have been like 5 pages. There is barely any dialogue in the movie and if it was supposed to be about a down on his luck actor I couldn't tell. He seemed pretty successful as he flies to Italy for a press junket. He has sex with new women every night pretty much, but they don't show any of the sex scenes in this movie. He doesn't do any drugs and only drinks. I guess they are trying to show how empty his life is that all he does is drink and have sex, but there was pretty much no connection to the main character in this movie. His revelation that he is nothing, not even a person at the end of this movie pretty much sums up my thoughts on this movie. It is nothing, not even a movie. Also, don't even know why they have Chris Pontius listed as a main character. He only has like 3 lines in the movie, barely any screentime, and basically just plays himself with a different name, although I guess he is the 3rd character after the father and daughter with the most screentime.

Saw Black Swan and The Fighter this past month.

Black Swan is currently my favorite movie of the year (still a whole bunch of movies I need to see, though), and I plan on seeing it again very soon. Loved every minute of it.

The Fighter was good, but not great. I'm still not a big Marky Mark fan, but Bale really impressed me. He completely nailed the role, and he definietly deserves at least a nomination for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

I still really want to see True Grit. Will probably check it out next weekend, if I can.
