Armaan Singh Sarai, a 12-year-old boy from an American-Sikh family, was arrested by the Dallas police on December 11 and held for three consecutive days after he was accused by a “bully” in his class of carrying a bomb to school, claims his cousin in a Facebook post.
According to Haer, Armaan was arrested by the police on December 11 on the basis of an accusation by one of his school-mates. Haer writes: “A bully in class thought it would be funny to accuse him of having a bomb, and so the principal, without any questioning, interrogation, or notification to his parents, called the police.”
Haer goes on to describe how Armaan’s family contacted every police department in the area in a bid to locate him, only to find out that he had been sent to a juvenile facility.

An unfortunate time for Sikh right now and generally anyone with a passing resemblance to being of middle eastern descent it seems. Type of ignorance being reported on in just the past week has been astounding. Looked around for more info but I couldn't find any story mentioning the kid even having anything on him the day he was arrested.
Another story with the police claiming he admitted to making the threat as well for those interested. States he made a joke but the family is claiming otherwise, moreover the person being investigated didn't even seem to know how long he was being detained for either... eh.
The student, who hasn’t been identified, accused Sarai on Friday of saying his backpack was wired with a bomb set to go off in a minute, that he would place the bag in a restroom and flee with people waiting outside the school for him, the police report states, according to Cook.
Police evacuated the classroom and concluded that the backpack didn’t have a bomb, Cook said. Sarai admitted to mentioning a bomb and insisted that he was kidding, but was taken to the county’s juvenile detention center.
