ALWAYS IN THE MOTHERFUCKING FIGHT...

WITH DAVID MOTHERFUCKING WRIGHT MOTHERFUCKERS!!

JC Romero has a lot to think about as he sits his cheating ass on the side lines for the first third of the season.

Chump!

nice

US wins, as usual for the superior country. Even though technically, Puerto Rico is part of the US, so their team should now be absorbed into the US team.

I'm guessing I won't see a game of this, it would be nice to actually watch it, but apparently seeing teams that couldn't make the NCAA Tourney is more important.

Romero fucked up the game and left the dirty job to Cabrera. Poor guy is an awesome closer but the pressure was just too damn much. It was an epic game though, enjoyed every second of it.

Oquendo (manager) fucked up. How can you leave your pitcher to put the bases full in the 9th inning. I swear someone paid him or something :lol

As I said, epic game after all. Very nicely played by both teams.

Can you please stop this bullshit? I don't really know why you haven't been banned yet, really. This plus your previous comment in the thread passes you as a racist asshole.

It was definitely a great game. PR did a good job during most of the game holding US back, but simply choked during the last inning. Of course, US played a great game, unlike their previous match vs. PR.

Banned for what? What, pissed off because the US won, so you can't get your rocks off to some good old US bashing? Bite me.

Thank god sportsnet switched to the Oilers game right at 8, I would have hated to have to see the end of this game. :P

And again, wtf at these games *averaging* 4 and a half hours. Surely to god they can speed this shit up.:lol

Hopefully Venezuela does what PR couldn't.

I think it was a shitty move by Oquendo to leave Romera for the 9th, then putting in the closer with so much pressure. You gotta die with your closer in games like these. Then again, he has always been a shit coach...

He congratulated US by the way, whereas you just acted like a douche. So congrats to you. Then again like he said, judging by your post history that's par for the course.

US bashing? I've never bashed the US. You've been saying the same shit since the thread started, it's totally uncalled for. If you have a superiority complex then please take it away. Most people here are having a civil discussion without bashing anyone else. It's totally uncalled and unneeded.

Not really. Obviously I was being silly about it, but apparently for some people they care a ton about it, so he got pissed. Coming from the NCAA hoops and NFL threads of smack talking, this is like a tea party, so I apologize if I was 'too' rough here, when I clearly wasn't even really being serious.

He meant to say superior country ... [in terms of baseball] -- and it's true, since PR got their ass eliminated. Somebody should tell them that games last for 9 innings.

PS: Why aren't these games in New York or L.A. You know, cities with a very high amount of ethnic diversity, the whole point of the WBC?

The same shit? I think I've posted in this thread like twice. :lol

Obviously I would just being ridiculous for the sake of smack talk, coming from the NFL and NCAA threads this year I thought that was pretty much standard for all sports threads during the year. I apologize if I was 'too' rough, but its not really any worse than any banter thrown back and forth between fans in other sports threads.

I am not really arguing, I know bashing is part of the sport talk, etc. The superior comment, and the comment earlier in the thread suggesting we worked at Nike making shoes since 10 years old kinda went a bit too far.

I haven't said anything else, really, I just didn't like the comment one bit and just posted it. That's it. The game was great, and props to team USA for pulling it out at the end. PR broke down reaaal bad, but it happens always to them =P

Holy shit, is it just me or is Korea playing like if they are super pissed off at the Japanese, goddamn.
Japan - Korea is a big rivalry.

Oh wow, didn't know that. But why?
Jesus where to begin?

eh, Google back to the days when the country was to be called "Corea". You'll find some interesting shiz... probably urban myth, but interesting. Anyway there are many instances where Japan has treated Korea pretty badly in the past... btw that's an understatement.

EDIT: (should help) Japan-Korea relations

Had to edit post :P

I know there are some things going on between them, but didn't now it would carry over to baseball.

I have a Korea friend who said the Japanese are assholes and that they treated them like shit. And my Japanese friend said the same exact shit about Koreans.

Heck, East Asia rivalries always carry over to sport, especially football/soccer. There should be a picture with rivalries between China, South Korea, North Korea, Japan and Taiwan. It would be a litany of laughs if their history weren't so tragic. :(

The 'superior' part was just being intentionally ridiculous. And I didn't even know what you were talking about until I looked back on the first page. It wasn't even close to my intent to say something racist, I thought it was completely a shot at Nike since they get away with child/slave labor wages down in those territories that the least they can do it pony up some cash to be the main sponsor the teams around there, since they take advantage of the labor around there and make their money off of it.

I apologize, maybe I could have said it better, I wasn't really trying to say that at all honestly. Several of my favorite pitchers pitch for those territories this year, Volquez, Cueto, among others - so I honestly wasn't intentionally trying to say anything bad about that. Honestly, I don't care all that much about this event, I just wanted to see the US win for it to continue and get some popularity. In the future I hope they designate the final game to the territories involved and maybe a 3 game series, even though it may cost a good amount. I.e., if its Japan and Puerto Rico, have the team with the better record host two and the other one host one.

I went web2.0 man.

Whenever I read Silva's posts, I imagine a prickishly pissed-off, condescending voice.

It's just sports.

Note: Silva, we can't talk shit about other teams from other countries like we do to American teams in other sports forums, unless that country is full of Non-hispanic white people. This is an unwritten Gaf-rule, that nobody could argue isn't true. Oh, I'm not complaining about the double-standard, but rather I'm expressing my thanks that I was allowed to talk so much shit about France ( or Phrance, as we call it post-phelpsing) during the Olympics.
