I've been wondering about this recently...

Worse signing? - Lewis ($120million) or Johnson ($126million)

I say Johnson because at least the Magic can retain Dwight. The Hawks can't add anything now.

Lewis by light years... JJ at least keeps you to be a playoff team.. If D12 bounces.. then what?

Naw, Lebron fed the drama for a lot longer than just this summer.

It does kinda suck with the Nuggets though. They certainly had more than enough talent to win it all, but mentally they're at the bottom of the barrel. Its a shame they couldn't get it together.

As a fan without a home, I just love it when a team that used to scrape the bottom of the barrel rises up to become a contender. I feel a weird sense of pride on their behalf. It's boring the see the same powers dominate every year and when a team defies expectations, it's exciting. Knicks are making me happy this year for that very reason.

Watching the Nuggets rise up from "isn't that van exel dude on that team?" to possible champs was awesome. Oh well, time for Melo to take another team deep into the playoffs without ever actually winning the big one :P

The decision making of the Clippers is so awful, it's like they're purposely trying to make the game more difficult for themselves

Baron Davis sucks the intelligence out of everyone around him like a giant black hole for rational thinking.

LewRich becomes a sickass expiring contract the same time Dwight's contract ends (assuming he doesn't pickup his option)

It's his swag

True. I thought he was injured or something, why is he even playing?

He's been playing 20 minutes a game and scoring something like 7PPG. From MVP stats to "white guy with a decent jump shot" numbers. Sad.

Eh. They were really good throughout the 80s with Alex English.

They were good, but not Melo era good. And it didn't last as long. Although they had the bomb ass rainbow city logo back then so they are awesome regardless.

Joe Johnson is a better player in my opinion so rashard was worse

also, at the time, who the fuck was gonna give rashard anywhere near that contract?? atlanta was in a strange situation where they kind of had to give JJ the max or else (although its no excuse)

Is that even a possible thing, for OKC to relinquish their history to Seattle so that if the Hornets moved there, they could be the Sonics again - and then for the Hornets to grant their history to the Bobcats retroactively?

Is there a precedent for stuff like that in pro sports? I know teams move and stuff all the time, but a double/triple move and history swap is sorta crazy, lol.

That´s a good start for the NBA. Recent relocations proved that´s usually bad for the city getting the team, and also for the city losing the team.

Hornets should be in Charlotte and Sonics should be in Seattle. Those moves are different than the ones made back when the NBA was just a small league fighting to survive. (I don´t think people in Minesota want the Lakers name back).

I would buy a 360 if Ballmer is indee the saviour. I would love to see my Supes back, even if they suck for a decade.

I'm beginning to lean towards getting one of those secondary tickets for 100+ for Friday's Knicks-Heat game. Why? "Because this is the only basketball game I will go to this year" (I got work during the next game)

Terrible reasoning NBA gaf?

Blackace: why do you always punctuate your sentences with two periods?

Because his words are so epic he needs an extra period to keep them contained within his sentences.

What? The highlight of the year is a goal-tending block?

LeBron does this like once every 5 games.

Yes but do they get such a beautiful shot of his arrogant swagger afterwards? I expect him to just straight up punch someone in head during a fast break one time. Right through the skull. Just BAM!! LBJ fist is busting out the back of some bench player's head.

He's gotta be way more judicious in how he plays, he looks completely out of control sometimes.
Indeed, he's just asking come down and land on someones foot, or something like that, and he's going to do his knee again, or if he just flat out falls, break his fucking leg.

My heart breaks a little for Blake after every game. You can tell how bad he wants it...and how sad he is to be surrounded by such fuckups.

Some players always seem to think extra effort automatically equal extra output. It's like that kid on the high school basketball team whose only contribution was to dive for every loose ball on the court. He seemed to be valuable because he had no much energy but was really just a spaz who screwed up our zone defense and forced us to cover his holes.

edit: The difference here being Blake is actually a decent player with potential.

Bad example, Hustle players (Lou Amundson, Jared dudley) who can also do one other thing really well, can carve out careers in the NBA (and good ones, i miss lou so much).

I get what you mean, though.

He's no Mike Miller but I'm sure he'll help you guys.

The worst part is, if Miller came back and all of a sudden the heat turned it around, would he have gotten the MVP/

the players only meeting is the mvp

Well, seeing as how LeBron James was in control of that Players Only meeting after they took their 8th L (where he lit fire to everyone's ass, including Wade and Bosh) and they haven't lost since, LeBron is clearly the MVP of Forever.

I mean, his ass kicking speech was so raw it whipped the Knicks into shape just by based on the rumors of it happening.

And destroyed the Cavs in the same stroke.

I don't understand how the Cavs can look like a .500 team for the first month and then just instantly regress into the worst team in basketball. It's not like their schedule has gotten harder or they have had a rash of injuries.

I'd say blow it up, but what team is going to take Mo Williams and Jameson? They could probably get some value for Hickson or Andy, but then you have absolutely nothing in the middle.
