LeBron can win a chip with his current skill level. He's getting more comfortable playing off the ball, stepping with confidence into his jumpshot and his shooting a career high from the 3 this season.
The fact that he can't do EVERYTHING on the basketball court isn't a logical argument against him being able to win a chip with his skillset.
It is just going to come down to team depth. I think Chalmers should be given the green light to take more shots and get more confidence out there so he can roll out with Mike and James off the bench. The Haslem loss was staggering...but if he isn't back just before the playoffs I would be surprised. Too much heart.
It's never been an issue with Bron how he is playing basketball. What it comes down to is the type of competition he's up against in relation to his own team. I've said it for 3 years now, and it's even more true today: The Celtics are just a near impossible team to beat in a 7 game series. They don't have "hybrid" guys at any positions. Their starting five are the epitome of the position. A truly pass first point guard that can penetrate, defend and average 10+apg. A shooting guard that could give a shit less about iso basketball (but can) , forces the opposing star guard to play D and hits shots from anywhere on the court with catch and shoot. A 3 guard that can spot up, iso, get to the foul line, unselfish. 4 Guard that plays monster D, knocks down anything in front of the 3pt line and can post up. 5 guard that can literally back down anybody in America, rebound a bit...true C.
Then you talk about all that depth. The MWO won't be able to overcome it. I was surprised as hell when the Lakers won that series last year. Perk probably had a lot to do with it, also the fact that Pau sacrificed his nuts (had them ripped off after game 7 before being jacked with HGH/roids/etc) helped.
Bron has just gone up against some monster teams. It's why he is in Miami now. Will it be enough against a healthy C's squad? Probably not. And without homecourt? Death sentence.
I like the Heat a lot more than I did a few weeks ago though.
