Against other teams that also had dominate players too correct? Or did Phil have the 3 best players in the NBA at the same time?

You want to compare rosters? After Stockton and Malone it was real rough on the Utah side of things and they still managed to push the Bulls. Come now, the Bulls had far better pieces to work with.

Also, where is that johnm guy now that the hornets are losing to the t-wolves.

My commiserations on the win rodeo.

Holy shit the bobcats won a game.

And now that rose has a consistent scorer to pass too, his assist numbers seem to be around where they should be (~8 a game).

I agree they did, but talant doesn't always win championships. Talk to Mav fans. IMO they have underperformed in the playoffs over Dirk's career. And some times it feels like better coaching might have helped.

Dirk is no Jordan and Kidd is no Pippen. I'd concede the point of the talent was even comparable and we weren't talking about the absolute greatest of all time being on the opposing team.

But really the Jazz blew it by not winning in the years Jordan was 45'ing.

Bad coaching hurts a team a lot more than good coaching helps.

The mavs lost last year due to carlisle.

I agree. As long as we acknowledge the good coaches and what they bring to the table and not say things like "Phil Jackson just rolls the ball out" (not saying people were saying that here).

No, i'm not adding any amendments to the statement.

If you want to have a different conversation about Phil thats fine.

Phil has had some of the most stacked and talented rosters that have ever been put together. He is probably the best coach at getting the most out of that talent that is going around at the moment. He's great at manipulating the refs and NBA during a finals series. And he also has always assembled the talent required to make his triangle offense work. Phill doesn't just roll the ball out, but his job has been made to look a lot better because of the talent of the rosters he's had. I'mt not saying others could've done better (i'm saying avery and carlisle would've had that shit blow up), or that he's mediocre in anyway (he always had the respect and control of the team of the best player in the league at the time), but there's more to his record than just his ability to coach.

Evans Considering Season-Ending Surgery

RealGM said:
Tyreke Evans has dealt with a mild case of plantar fasciitis for much of the season and his production has suffered.

He revealed after Sacramento's loss to the L.A. Clippers on Monday night that he is considering having a procedure done on his left foot to alleviate the condition that would sideline him for "three to four months."

"Hopefully (the plantar fasciitis) will go away soon," said Evans, who scored 32 points against the Clippers.

"I talked to my agent (Bob Myers) today, and I was thinking about (the procedure). ... He's going to let me know and we'll see what's up. I'll just keep that in mind, whether I want to just keep playing through it or get (the procedure) over with."

A source close to Evans said he had already decided to do the procedure which involves laser treatment soon, but his sudden resurgence might delay it slightly.

Thank you, Tyreke! Thank you, thank you, thank you, etc.

But this is true of any great coach.

Pat Riley once asked people to guess why he had so much success. After a few minutes of "preparation", "Hard work", etc, he gave the answer:

"Magic Johnson".

Yes, being able to get the most out of your talent is coaching, and you have to have talent to work with, but...Rick Adelman's had talent. Jerry Sloan too.

Great players always help, but the year before the first ring, what happened to L.A.? The year before that? Phil arrives, instant turnaround, 4 trips, 3 rings the first time, working on a 4th threepeat.

Yes, having the two best SGs of all time helps, as well as second fiddles who can run shit.

Sloan? Top 10 PG, Top 5 PF
Rick Adelman? Shit, his talent could go head-up with Phil's. Still lost.

When the chips are down, he wins the most and even without great players, his teams still make the playoffs.

It's not really anything more--a lot of coaches get the opp. You have to make the most of it.

What is Duncan's record against Kobe in the last 10 years again?

Hell, go for all-time. Same story.

Do we need to add another dubious award this year?

Triple L of the Year?

Crimson, thoughts?
The Lebron James "Douchiness" Award? Although that one is a formality. Pimp's got that on lock.

Although... when did Dreams-Vision brag about his Bentley and the Cavs? Was that in 2010?

For the people talking about Boozer earlier, he does in fact make up his mind and go to the basket regardless of anyone blocking the path but more often than not, he succeeds and doesn't blatantly lower his shoulder or elbow into defenders like LeBron does.

He's more subtle and also gets called for plenty of offensive fouls.

I didn't have a lot of pics on my phone that didn't have some sensitive person or something...and since I don't know any of you from Adam. you understand. that should be sufficient, regardless.

I've no interest in lying to people on websites. that's stuff kids do. I'm a grown ass man. I'd send pics of my girlfriend, but that's just waaay to juvenile. you can take my word for that or not. at the end of the day, it shouldn't have been an issue to begin with, but someone decided to pull the card and tell me what I'd never have, when in fact I've earned and have a lot of what I want already. I happily admitted that I'll never have Noah's income. I don't need it to be satisfied.

and you both should be grown enough to admit that the attack on me from the other guy was both unnecessary and childish. not trying to show anyone up...but if you attack me AND pull a card on....and my cards are better than yours...you lose. you don't pout about it. you just learn the lesson and move on.

he lost. and ganging up on me made you both look even more childish.

I would have posted this in the thread, but that side conversation had gone off topic long and far enough.

that being said, respect me and I'll respect you. attack me and you might be biting off more than you can chew.

He had no more ground to talk shit on after Lebron did exactly what we said he would do only two weeks later.

Pretty sure it was. Thread Title of "Mad Street Cred" was this year.

Still beats 1 win.

To be fair Dreams Vision has definitely upgraded his post quality since then.

He's a cool dude in general, just that one post. And LBJ leaving ended a lot of convos, "Is he a leader, does he want a challenge", etc.

Yep, it was right before the3 playoffs, I believe.

Remember how indignant he was, when people called bullshit on his claimed riches?

A couple weeks ago, he said this, when a guy posted about his 1 Terabyte SSD:

How about the NBA GAF Contraction award for someone posting with no idea what they are talking about?

Lebrole player was horrible.

2nd fiddles don't get nicknames, they get over looked.

In a week they'll be up in arms about it though and say they're against contraction, once their pr department has had time to talk to them.

I don't necessarily disagree, but i don't hold it against any team/coach for not winning the 90's. Dream and Jordon were just... insane for that decade.
