Really? There are details? I haven't really followed it at all, but I could have shown we don't even have a real trailer for it so far aside from a short TV commercial.

-Kaito won't be appearing early on
-Hisoka won;t be perverted but instead be a "strong fighter"
-Less violence
-Togashi himself will be supervising the anime
Don't know why I started watching it.
Don't know why I kept watching it.
Watched more episodes than there were left, so may as well finish it.
Wakamoto.
Sounds like an improvement already. Kid's anime should not be too violent. I'm glad they're thinking of the demographic. Children need strong role models who can stand up for themselves, but they don't need to be influenced by panty shots either. Sounds like Madhouse really cares about making a positive contribution to society, unlike the irresponsible Nippon Animation. Thumbs up.

The Kurta clan hasn't been killed either. The Genei Ryodan gave them all bad hair days! Kurapica* is now looking for the Genei Ryodan to teach them a lesson.
*Kurapica is now officially a girl. Hunter x Hunter needs a positive female influence for today's youth.

R-15 12 (Final) - I know no one's going to pay attention to this because you all wrote it off long ago, but for anyone who is reading this, this was a very, very good final episode. Seriously, this episode completely blew away my expectations. I was hoping it'd be okay, sure, but I don't think I could have guessed it'd be anywhere near as high quality as it is. It manages to be both classy (particularly though the central feature, the song the class sings - it's good) and entirely fitting with the general theme of the series (that is, that he's a porn author), and that's not easy... so yeah, I was impressed. As for the ending, it's a better than average ending for this genre. There are definite feelings between the main pair. Given that this is based on an ongoing light novel series, my expectations for the ending were quite low, but just like the episode, it exceeded them. Sure, it's still R-15, but this is R-15 being as good as it's going to be, pretty much.
Also, one of my major annoyances about most of the show -- that Narukawa never plays anything on her clarinet except for that one annoying couple-of-line set of notes, over and over again -- is well and truly
over forever. It was so satisfying to finally see her play a full song, and well! I honestly thought that it'd never happen, but here it does. Maybe they were going for that, so they held off on having her play much of note until this last episode? If so, it worked, it was great to see.
I somehow doubt Mayo Chiki will have a final episode anywhere near as good as this one is...
Now, on to the details. This episode is in some ways quite different from any of the others -- it's centered around the class singing a lengthy song that the MC wrote. The song is basically part porn in words put to music, part romance song, and it's actually quite well done. The episode's centered around resolving Narukawa's plot arc and keeping her at the school, which is does. It actually has some real resolution, too. Sure, thanks to the genre the ending revokes some of it, but not all. This is no IS ending, let's put it that way. It's far more satisfying than that one.
I mean, even if Utae, the idol girl, isn't giving up on the MC yet, she knows that he likes Narukawa the most.
She even plays a key role in keeping Narukawa at the school, by getting mad scientist girl to abduct her away from her father (who had, as promised last time, shown up to take her away from the school) and bring her to the auditorium to play the clarinet in accompaniment to the song. That's nice of you, Utae, given that you like him too, and if she was gone maybe you'd have a better chance... but instead of doing that, she does what he would like the most and helps keep the one he likes around. How nice of her.
As I said earlier, a majority of this episode is taken up by the song. After some final agonizing over the lyrics, Taketo finally decides to go with his heart and write the song that fits with his writing, even if it sacrifices his relationship with Narukawa (because he thinks that if she learns he likes porn she'll stop liking him, just like most other girls apart from Utae do). Then, once they are all together, the time comes for them to sing, and hopefully win the competition. They sing pretty well, for a song they hadn't seen the words to until just before the competition... of course they'd been practicing the tune without words, but still, it's a bit hard to believe. Oh well.
Apart from that, the long song part -- and it takes up maybe as much as half of the episode -- is, as I said, quite good. The lyrics are moderately explicit, but he managed to actually make the overall song sound classier than the words alone would suggest. Still, I would think that someone would complain about school kids singing a song about a couple like this one... I guess not.
In the background, as with earlier, while the song is going on the visuals alternate between showing the students singing, showing Narukawa playing her clarinet (and really playing it, not just looping a few notes), and showing some more of the past meetings between the two main characters. Narukawa gets back her love of playing music, her father is moved by her great playing and decides to allow her to stay, Taketo shows everyone how good an author he is, and what genre he writes (managing to get over his fear of the repercussions of having everyone play a song like that of his in public), and the main two get closer together again. The whole song portion of this episode really emphasizes the main two's relationship, though of course they aren't having sex like the unnamed people in the song, and aren't even boyfriend and girlfriend yet they do like eachother and the show is clearly suggesting that they eventually will be a couple.
And with that, their class
resoundingly wins the competition. Narukawa decides that their prize, a trip to anywhere in the world they want to go, will be to go to Vienna, presumably because so many great composers lived there.
Of course though, because this is based on an ongoing light novel series, it has to end with something of a but-his-troubles-continue ending, and indeed it does.
However, it doesn't do with by sabotaging the relationship between the main two, or something like that. It does it in two ways -- first, conveniently, Narukawa (the extremely naive, sheltered girl) doesn't understand a lot of the lyrics so she somehow "doesn't know what parts of the song were about", and second, though Utae knows the main two like eachother the most and worked to keep them together, she isn't entirely giving up, and will follow them to Vienna by having a concert there at the same time they're there.
As for the rest of the girls, they aren't important enough to rate a mention, as far as relationships go. While this is a harem show, the last half of this season really focuses on the love triangle, not the rest of the girls' feelings for him. I think that's part of why I like it, and reminds me a little of Love Hina (the anime, original series), which did similarly -- sure, all of the girls liked him, but many barely ever showed it, and the show had a strong focus on the relationship between the main pair, who very likely were eventually going to be a couple. It's kind of like that here, I'd say. it doesn't go quite as far, but it is only 12 episodes, not 26, so it doesn't have the time to. That's a better way to do harem than the more generic Tenchi/IS-style method, in my opinion.
Now, R-15 is most definitely not as good as Love Hina, not nearly, but Love Hina is probably my favorite harem show so it wasn't exactly likely to be. But that is a similarity of sorts between the two shows.
Nobody, I hope. It would be nice to actually have an anime thread where people talked about anime instead of a few people constantly trolling everyone else.
Come gather round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
Youll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin
Then you better start swimmin or youll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin
I just wanted to point out that her entire face is completely warped and not just her gigantic disgusting forehead. Seriously an outline of a face should not look like that.
I have nothing to say about the shows contents as I haven't watched it, but it really does look bad.
About HxH anime: WTF does less violence mean exactly? I know the manga had some bloody stuff so if that means the anime will tone done on the bloodyness/gore then that's OK.
I think the original anime had some characters look really beat up and bloodied didn't it?
Hisoka sounding less...gay is a bonus lol.
This episode got me legitimately weepy at times ;_; The rest will be spoilered:
This episode felt like an overly long epilogue in the 1st half and lol at how they "resolved" Ohana x Ko. I was thinking how they were dropping the ball big time with the last episode despite the really nice festival sequences. The 2nd half was really good though. The conclusion of the close-Kissuiso issue was totally not what I expected and finally watching Okami-san walk the halls and reminisce was mono no aware.
One of my favorite series this year, no doubt. The characters are just so well done and outside of some hiccups mid series, it was well paced and the situations made you care for all the characters.

I want you to look at that picture while you are running your hand up on the side of your face. Or looking in the mirror. If you cannot see that she looks like a double straight out of Alien then honestly there is a problem.
