The potential incest is the whole point of the initial hook (i.e the title) but the show isn't about it, it's about otaku's and coming out and stuff more akin to Genshiken if I'm going to do a comparison.

That's possible, sure. It is, obviously, the most common in harem shows, and hentai of course. In other genres... sometimes, sometimes not.

The most common type of sister trope in Harem anime's is the one that attacks the brother for being perverted (like Mayo Chiki), if you're seeing incest undertones in that, then all I can say is lay off the doujin/hentai man, that stuff is not good for you.

That's the most common type of sister trope in harem anime, really? I'm not so sure... I mean, that is a character type, certainly (makes me think of Mahoro in Mahoromatic, but she wasn't the MC's sister, she was his robot maid, and was his main love interest as well as being the anti-porn character), but I don't know about "the most common type of sister in harem anime"...

The hook, the title, and some of the contents, that keep returning regularly. It's about incest as much as it is anything, beyond obviously "otaku-centric" being the main theme of the show.

The biggest secret is that if the Kids biz was actually lead by kids, we would have a way fairer business than what we have now in the west. I always stated this. Thats why i cant stand Disney not ONE Iota when a do a live action series (not action based)

Yeah, that was a bit much. Still, didn't bore me nearly as much as I expected after some of the impressions in this thread.

Nothing made any sense whatsover, but I really enjoyed it for some strange reason. Incredibly stupid over the top eyecandy. I even like the character designs and overall visual style. It fits right in. Also: random German words that make absolutely no sense and sound incredibly dumb to a native speaker are always welcome. Actually, that was a lie. But unlike with Fate/Zero, it doesn't bother me here. This show is just so bad that random made up bullshit like "Edel Brocken" (what the fuck is that even supposed to mean?) doesn't even stand out. So yeah, awesome show.

Weird show, weird visual style. Don't know if want. Will need to watch another episode or two before passing judgement.

Did it air on NicoNico in Japan as well or was it Western-only streaming? Sales don't necessarily reflect how well the show did with audiences, and we already know that the government is funding the Blood-C movie - was there government cash involved in the TV series as well?

I'm not sure picking a harem show like Haruhi is a great way to prove that OreImo isn't about the relationship between the brother and the sister. And that the lead role girl opposite of the main character isn't exploitatively sexualized at every given opportunity.

I meant it from a narrative perspective... you know what, I'm just going to chalk it off as ABF watching too many Hentai's and Doujin's.

Wow, Survival Strategy unveiled! This last episode... was... spectacular, simply spectacular! It was me or the direction on this episode was incredible? Maybe it seemed like that because of the important and emotional happenings displayed...anyway, the script and dialogues kept the same line of some of the previous episode, but I think the direction stands out more on this one because it doesn't faults it anywhere; clever, spot-on in showing the moments, making interesting and beautiful the work and all in a good rhythm and seamless transitions, I loved it! The music too!

I liked that more implication of Tabuki's character in the narrative after what I saw in other episodes, as well.

Also, duckroll's avatar spoiled me a little... well, better said... I spoiled myself thinking and thinking about it, made me expect something like that!

Now, excuse me guys while I check your spoiler-tagged conversation from some days ago...
