A change of scenery isn't changing the fact that Williams' game doesn't translate to the pros.

Like Michael Beasley, he dominated in college because he too big and too quick for college kids to guard. He has neither advantage in the NBA. He can't get by most 4s and doesn't have the perimeter game to play the 3. He has no idea how to play defense anywhere, either. He's in no man's land.

Williams isn't #2 pick good, but I know he isn't as bad as he's been playing for the Wolves. There has to be some off the court factors at play here.

Henderson for Williams and a second would be a great trade for both teams I think. It would allow us to play Taylor and MKG in the backcourt together more, while still having Gordon for depth. While Williams is much better suited for the 4, where we have decent depth now thanks to the Warrick trade, he could still fill in for MKG at the 3 for at least a few minutes a game.

As for the Wolves Henderson is exactly what they need at the 2. He can drive and finish, defend, and is a decent rebounder. He'd complement Rubio well in the backcourt. He's also at the beginning of his prime years and would likely sign for cheap if you give Sved and Roy enough mins to keep his production low.

edit: not having to resign Henderson would give us a TON of cap space in the offseason. I doubt any upper tier FAs will come to Charlotte, but we're going to have the money to at least be in play for them.

So, Andre Drummond is one of David Thorpe's clients, right? That's the only reason he could nominate him as "biggest surprise" in his column today, right?

Lots of people need changes of scenery, Alec Burks is too good to get DNP's.

Jimmer needs to go to the Lakers, as much as it would pain me.

Or maybe, just maybe, people (myself included) were wrong. Maybe his shooting numbers his sophomore year at Arizona were a blip and were totally unsustainable. Maybe he can't do the things he excelled at in college because he doesn't have the same physical advantages anymore. I don't know, maybe.

Whatever, Josh Howard! The cavalry has arrived!

I've been calling out Drek ever since he was drafted by Kaaaaahn.

Frankly, the Pups' recent draft history has been ghastly.

Yeah um, I stopped here. I would love to see the team you've been watching because its obviously not the Heat. Them looking disinterested is far from a new story line, its the same one we have gotten every year outside a few marquee games.. I don't really need to "push" anything.

The Heat do. Haven't you heard? They play every game like its the finals.

Cool story bro, you're still wrong.

and, you should have kept reading, now you just look like a pretentious 5 y.o. that can't read.

The dude definitely can't dominate like he did in college, and I don't think that lesson has sunk in yet for him. To Kahn's credit though he loooked every bit like a superstar in Arizona's tournament run, but yeah his shooting stats were definitely too good to be true. In any case I think as soon as Love gets back you're going to be shipping Williams out, so your suffering will soon be over. I wonder what you'll be able to get for him?

New head coach Mike D'Antoni & assistant coach Dan D'Antoni came out and met some of the players before heading into the film room to address the whole squad.

Here they are reunited with a couple of their former players, Steve Nash & Jordan Hill.

who's dan?

Only when they deserve it. All of David Kahn's picks except for Rubio have been terrible. Although Ellington was solid for a late round pick.

There's this undercurrent of "Williams is only 21, they shouldn't give up on him." That's stupid. He's played 1600 minutes in the league already. How much more do you need to see to know that he can't play?

Vesely/Booker for Williams? Probably the best we can do. We've got way too much 4/5 depth at the moment, and if we miss on Bazz but get a top 3 pick we'll be forced to take Zeller/Nerlens.

First thing you have to do with Williams is force him to play the PF--regain that bulk he had at Zona. 4's can play the 3. Just don't do it. I feel the same way about Beasley.

I still haven't seen a player in college recently that looked as good as D-Will did. Got to the line consistently, had a great stroke...great IQ. Fucking Wolves have ruined him!!!

How much of value is Wade if we flip him to another team.....hypothetically of course
6th man of the year Lamar Odom would help add size while still being able to play smallball, and defensive specialist Ryan Hollins would help your struggling defense. Although after last night, I'm not too sure how he'd get along with Bledsoe.

"I went into an absolute shell for a few months in New York," Lin told Yahoo! Sports. "I went through a phase when I didn't want to talk to anybody. I didn't want to talk to my friends. I didn't want to give anybody close to me a chance to mess up our relationship. I saw how publicity and fame changed certain people around me, and changed how people looked at me. And I hated it."

Fame had come so fast, so without warning, it hasn't been until training camp and starting the season with Houston that Lin has finally breathed out, finally understood he had found a franchise that will let him grow, let him make his mistakes, let him be.

"It wasn't like I worried they were going to cut me," Lin said. "But it just seemed too good to be true. Like, the coach actually cared about what plays I enjoy running, or that the coach would text me on a day off to see how I was feeling. That type of stuff was too good to be true."
Lin was asked, "You had that with Mike D'Antoni, didn't you?"

"But it was so short," Lin responded.

And when Mike Woodson took over?

"It changed," Lin said. "Different style, different coach."

Confirms what we all saw and already know.

Can't wait for the Knicks to crash and burn, as they inevitably will this season.

That article actually paints Woodson in a pretty good light. He had no interest in Jeremy Lin the point guard. Melo and JR were throwing Lin the person under the bus.

I seriously can't remember another time fellow players were saying another guy got overpaid. Let alone one who was just on your team the season before.
